Why do you care about mpg?

I just don't understand. There are so many other things that are more important.

You must be a miracle worker on final drive change-outs

How's it going Duncan ? Old mechanics always want as much efficiency as possible, I worked for a guy years ago was the first and only local to get an engine dyno and later a chassis dyno he tuned by efficiency, but that was in the carburator era and it was allot harder, to get things right.DB

It's also somewhat irritating how really inefficient large motorcycles are and of course its a wind thing they just don't move threw the air very well lots of stuff sticking out.DB

One of my favorite little roads and why I like the winter tires I go up and down these all the time and it they are a little wet they turn to grease real fast.

Not being real flush I'm not off to the BMW national, I may have set a record over 30 yrs of BMWMOA membership and I've never been to a national rally, so much for hale and hardy fellows well met.I believe I'm more a loner than a joiner.Or as Groucho said . "I DON'T WANT TO BELONG TO ANY CLUB THAT WILL ACCEPT ME AS A MEMBER.”
Justin,Mary and I are off to the Elkader IA Guzzi Rally one of the best little feeds you can attend the rally chair has a mini Schnauzer also so Justin will meet a new friend. Only problem it's always hot.
Drone is offended by my overbearing banter oh well, I thought his skin was thicker than it apparently is, my own ego gets out of control often. He'll get over it or not.At any rate I got a Panasonic Lumix camera on his and Coopdways recomendation great little camera. It took the images in the last post works great a little clunky to up load images but we'll get use to it.DB

Which Lumix do you [and DRONE] have.
I need something better than my iPhone - "better" should also mean more idiot proof.

    Thanks,

Supper time the IA Guzzi rally is famous for its chow rural meals, roast beef Fri pork chops Sat and a Pancake Breakfast in there somewhere.Unusually poorly attended only about a 130 riders beautiful city park near Turkey River small town with a old Keystone bridge apparently the longest one west of Mississippi info here http://bridgehunter.com/ia/clayton/elkader/
Next outing will be WI Guzzi rally, less pretentious than BMW outings as their riders say " Going Out Of Business Since 1922" DB

See you maybe next year at the MN BMW Rally? or Maybe I'll try the Going out of Business event... Doing the Very Boring Rally III in about a month. Cuda.

Lots of Sand Hill cranes here in FL, they can be noisy...
I've found that most dogs have more sense than we humans. If they could post you wouldn't find them dissin' each other!

Saw this on someone's FB page: "I didn't infer there was something wrong with your post, but if the shoe fits, lace that bitch up and wear it"! :D

“If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and man.”

    Or better yet
I have been studying the traits and dispositions of the "lower animals" (so called) and contrasting them with the traits and dispositions of man. I find the result humiliating to me.

Some humans display the bad traits that some dogs can have but almost all dogs display the good traits that humans should have.

The significant other celebrating the final rut and getting out of the little valley, while remounting I slipped and fell laying in the weeds next to the tug she wanted the camera! The ruts were deeper in person and the fist of obstruction never reached up and grabbed my swaybar.
I'm 33/11 in the final drive and I wish it where just a trifle lower in first and second.I'll probably split hairs and stick the 34/11 back in one of these days, I'm getting 58 mph @4krpm in 5th and 64 mph @4k in 6th so its possible to run 61-62 under 4krpm and 70ish on the interstate under 4500.
The unhappy bit, with the woman friend and Justin onboard and windshield up all weekend I can't seemed to get more than 30 mpg. When its just the dog and I shield down we get 32ish damn damn damn ! restraint is the only thing that really works.DB

Another one of the dying breed of free beer motorcycle rallies at the Lake Joy Campground SE of Madison WI in the driftless region rolling farm land with rabbit holes that drop into beautiful little valleys.
On the way its near Mineral Point WI there's a Cummins eng facility there, and allot more corn than the Coulee regions I usually ride.
Chasing Coopdway down a typical WI rd, rally had great camping decent showers and food, it was quiet enough for some sleep and about 42 degrees this AM. Justin got into it with another rescue dog who was 4-5 times his size and she kicked his ass, no real harm done.
The interesting thing was the Coulee Queen (my rig ) met her younger patriotic sister and it's owner Jack another of CSM's customers a nice guy.

It's a very pretty rig but I like mine which has been super all weekend 31-35 mpg with lots of 33-34 I was pleased.I should drop FD from 33/11 back to 34 but I'm great everywhere but would like 1&2 just a wee bit lower but for the love of dog Dave give it some time.DB
Stuff you don't see everywhere, the worlds largest M from the Mineral Point Engineering school, it's WI what can I say ?

Thanks Dave for letting me take your rig out for a ride.

It confirmed my thoughts that I want an anti-sway bar.

    If you are reading Claude.....
This is the first time I saw one of your rigs. Nice stuff. I might have some swaybar questions.

Your right again ! LOL My front wheel seemed nervous and given to a bit of headshake at low speed, I was about to build a damper mount and noticed the sidecar wheel hitting a bump seemed to start it.36 pounds in chair tire Oops decided I'd play with it a bit down to 26 pounds close to perfect. Is that bump steer ? DB
