Hey guys. I'm looking for a little help with my LC8. It's actually fitted to a Superduke but hey we a big family right?:D

I have to have the engine out as both my base gaskets are weeping. I'm racing her this year and scutineering spotted it at last race and told me to get it sorted before the next.

As she has now done 50k miles I would be silly not to change the timing chains while I'm in there. I'm more than comfortable taking the heads and cylinders off but stripping the engine down enough to get at the balancer shaft and timing chains is a tad scary and a walk into the unknown. I've been having a search about and do have the repair manual but could really do with a walkthrough from how to go from after the cylinders are off through to the timing chains replacement. Is there such a thing?? Anything special I should be looking for while in there? Any parts that should also be changed at this point? I only have a couple of days to work on her and although I'm not a complete idiot with spanners I'm just a keen amateur.

Any help or info much appreciated.

There should be a TB for the 950s regarding fastening of an oil jet.... I think it did explain how you get in there..... Not sure I remember correctly though....
