    You could save some money making your own but those look really good. You'd need almost $100 worth of leather to make them. Also, you could order this at the same time to save on shipping.

    $7 a foot for scrap is damned outrageous. Go visit a local leather store and you can have 'pic of the litter' of quality leather hides. At the scrap table you can buy most anything for 2 or 3 bucks.

    I had a search going on eBay, particularly looking in horsey places.... and found a set of pommel bags that I modified for carrying some odds and ends on my (now long-gone!) Slash 2. They were original, heavy heavy leather, and cheap!
