AR Platform... often maligned during it's history... But what an amazing American innovation coming from the genius of Eugene Stoner back in the 1950's...
The platform, whether in 5.56 or 7.62 or the other range of chamberings has proven the incredible versatility of the original design...
It has served as the official Service Rifle of the US armed forces for over 5 decades...

    Snowman,
Was there a tool bag on the back of that Husky I sold you several years ago? If yes, what brand was it?
I had one that I seem to recall folded like a tri-fold wallet, than stuck to the rear fender onto separate mounting plate using velcro and a strap.
this separate mounting plate was screwed to fender.
The thing was you could remove the whole tool fold, it was not stuck to the rear fender.
I think I had that same bag on every bike I owned from 1991 through around when I sold you the TE250 :)

Maybe it's a good thing it's as cold as it is, I could have been on my new KTM 1090.........

I don't remember reading it anywhere but when I ride on the street in heavy traffic I'm watching my rear mirrors pretty often---especially at traffic stops and sudden traffic slow downs. Think Routes 22 and 78 through the valley.

And then I leave plenty of space in front of me and I'm always looking for escape routes, shoulder of the road, jump a curb, split the lane....

In fact, I'll observe a red traffic light hundreds of yards ahead of me and begin to slow down early as to avoid sudden traffic stops ahead of me---idiots who race between red lights.

One time when I slowed down early some elderly lady pulled up beside me and was bitching and giving me hands signals---I laughed my ass off. Picture that, an elderly lady in a Corrola giving shit to a guy on a KTM 1090 for going too slow---hahahaha.
Yea, she beat me to the THE RED LIGHT, and then she didn't get further than that till we turned off our respective exits miles down the road---she got high blood pressure over 40 feet of highway.

I ride a cycle often enough that when driving a car I often watch my rear mirrors too. Albiet the escape routes are minimal and the fear factor of being in a cage when rear ended is much less.

Any way Wednesday I pull up to a casual stop at a Red Light with no one behind me about eight cars deep---yes I remember looking back. I then looked ahead because the intersection is a Elementary School road crossing and I noticed no kids and no crossing guard, no school today, early dismissal?? This song sucks on the radio, I'm changing stations...

One thing I started to do after getting rearended on the bike is to swerve back and forth as I am stopping. The erratic movement seems to draw attention to me and the driver behind me gives me plenty of room.

Also I try to limit the amount of time I am on busy roads bit sometimes this cannot be avoided.
