Airheads can haul more than you think, sometimes lots more than many modern bikes

+1 on the Nemo Filo. Works well and is easy to adjust to fit your wants.

That campsite looks very familiar, but drier than when I was in it in 2009…

Water got up to within 6" of hammock bottom, but everything stayed dry. An hour later it had receded.

I've narrowed it down to 'earth'. Or 'Baltimore'.

Yup, I was there for that one too. I was in a tent much closer to the office. If I had taken my picture from the same spot, you would have seen one of those large A-frame green tents this time as well. They replaced one of them with a tow behind fold out tent/camper. That was one weird weekend :eek1

Several years ago I had a cheap old Coleman inflatable mattress that got a hole in it. I cut the inflatable pillow section off and stiched it to the Thermarest. If not fully in the sleeping bag, I cover the 'pillow' with a T -
shirt for a pillow case. 3 1/2 blows into it and it is the correct height for me. Roll it up with the T-rest. Works for me.

I'm using the L.L.Bean Camp Comfort Pillow which is an inflatable pillow with some stuffed foam inside. You can adjust it to the height you prefer and it still doesn't fell like an air filled pillow, feels more like a real foam pillow. It's a little bigger (20"-13") than most compressible pillow I've seen and it's pretty small when packed (11"x4").

Not much of an inflatable pillow fan but this one looks like it may be the perfect compromise! Decent price too - may order one right now! :deal

I could never find a pillow I liked for camping. always seemed that my fleece vest worked best along with a little whisky around the camp fire before bed.

All these post about pillows should go to another thread, correct? This is a thread for how your camping gear fits on your bike.

One thing I noted is if I have time to inflate it completely and shake it a little bit an hour or less before I go to sleep, the foam inside expand more and I get better comfort. I deflate it to my need just before I go to sleep and if a stay at the same place for more than 1 night, I inflate it back in the morning.

Yeah sorry guys. I don't want to mess up/hijack this great thread.

I had no idea how interested and helpful so many of you would be.

I am thinking of making several new threads on different things like, cooking equipment, pillows, mattress, shell gear. Anyway Ill see how interested everyone is I suppose.

I don't think it matters too much if it gets off topic just a wee bit? It always gets back on.

And I was just gettin' ready to post my pillow story. :cry

I agree a post or two off topic is not a big deal but this pillow thing has gone on for several pages. Time to move on.
