Rhodie, that is a beautiful bike! And the gas cap is a great touch! And I like the fact that you had them paint "GS" on the indents of the tank. Very nice! If you don't mind my asking, what'd it set you back?

But I'm ignorant about the Toureg emblem. I've seen it before but have no clue what it means. Somebody here even uses it for his avatar. What does it represent?

The logo is on "loan" from Paris-Dakar folks.
The paint, powdercoating [considerable, inc dissaassembly of all three boxes - GSA topbox had to be remade using SS bolts] fabrication of "dashboard" and embroidered backrest - all for $700.

I bought my new R1200GS in December and am using the winter months to get it set up like I want it for the summer. This web site has been invaluable in that process. Givi windscreen with Adventure winglets, HB engine guards, Adventure side cases with vario top case, Brake LED, pulsing high beam and HID low beam, FAMSA tank bag etc. Thanks one and all!

That looks nice Rogue. Hows the screen fair? I bought mine last week and might look at that. I cant put a photo on coz I am having trouble minimizing them to the required size. I am awaiting a mate of mine who is an aerodinamics engineer to design some mounts for ff50's. When I get the design I will try and post them. Cheers

The combination Givi screen and Adventure winglets is great. It is nearly as quiet as my R1150RT that I just sold. If you use a site like Photo Bucket to put your photos on line they have a program that easily re-sizes you photos for submission to a site like this. Free site too!

Like an irresistable force drawing the immovable object, I have succumbed to GS lust, and have joined the legion of Dirt, also known as The Dark Side.

I got my spare bodywork back from the painter the other day and got it mounted and got out for the first ride of the year. The pictures don't really show the difference as well as in person, it's a lot brighter blue than the original Ocean Blue was.

Here's a new one from today, looks like it maybe shows the color a little better.....

Since it still needs to be buffed out I didn't remount the winglets yet, what a mistake! They're going back on before I ride again today. I'd forgotten how bad the wind noise and helmet buffetting was without them. It was also my first ride with the Sargent heated seat, from just sitting on it when I got it I wasn't quite sure what all the fuss was about but now that I've had a chance to ride with it it is definitely an improvement over the stock one and the heat sure is nice, plenty warm enough even with the Alaska Leather sheepskin on, in fact once it gets warmed up I have to turn it down to about 1/3 on the thermostat or it's just TOO hot. :thumb

Definitely better than stock color! I don't see how BMW designers could have chosen the dull stock blue color.
