Got a few varied ones here, since my last post in Dec '11

Unloading from the onion boat, a 100' wooden ship, that brought the bike across from Sumatra to Malaysia

    The crane made it easy

    All done

This one is the ferry at Penang, Malaysia

Another ferry, across the Mekong River, Laos

Squeezed onto another Mekong ferry from Laos... up on the ramp

I switched to another bike to go back into Laos. Across the Mekong, yet again

Then it got interesting. I had to cross the Mekong again, and get downstream a ways

Here's the boat... four of us lifted the KTM in

and here we are, doing 60 kph down the Mekong (I kept the GPS on). The offsider "rode" the bike, with me tucked in behind

River crossings from then on typically involved boats... sometimes it fitted in, sometimes it didn't. This was heading down the Ho Chi Minh Trail during the wet season

    Just fitted on this one

Definitely too much water to get across myself... and the fee reflected that. 50,000 kip

This was the loading ramp... ride up and make sure to not overshoot

... didn't use the ramp to get off, just wheelied off.

This one... hmm... no photos of the bike on the boat.. that's it just after I got off. You just ride on one end, off the other. Trouble is, its sized for scooters. We were taking water over the ends

This was the loading ramp on the other side. Bit rugged. Note the guy on the scooter... has an SKS slung on his back

Here we go again... only 5,000 here

all girl crew there too. Just ride on, ride off

    and again....

and this was about 30 minutes before I drowned the bike in a creek

and let's finish with the Mekong, again...
