I plan on researching movie shooting locations on my travels where I'll be taking a picture of my bike on or near set. Let's see your bikes at past or current movie sets along with pics, movie name or any additional details for the rest of us!

I’ll start out with one of the sets from Transformers II filmed at Bethlehem Steelstacks in Pennsylvania,

Cool idea. Could be inspiration for longer trips too. :nod
In some places sets were preserved and turned into a theme park, like the Popeye village on Malta.
Then all those westerns of the 70's. Down memory lane.:getiton

This location has its own movie: "The Bridge at Remagen" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064110/

Bridge across the Rhine in Germany (or what's left of it). Less than 300 Kms from where I live.

Coppied all of this from a post I had made to another forum last summer.

I was viewing photos on Google Earth when I run across this place. It's the Gym that was used in the movie "Hoosiers" with Gene Hackman & Denis Hopper. (1985)
    It's located in Knightstown, IN., ( 39°42'35.45" N 85°37'58.59" W ), and is now use as a Community Center.

This is part of the lobby area as you walk in. The shot only shows some of the souvenirs for the movie they sell and part of the original ticket booth on the left but there are many other display cases with movie memorabilia in them that surround the area. Sorry, I did a really crappy job of photographing this area...

Walking into the gym you could feel the nostalgia of the place. They just don't make 'em like this no more...

This shot is of the locker room located under the stage.

The place was really neat to visit and a volunteer who works there gave us a personal tour and told a us a great deal about how they went about making the movie as well as the gym's history. They also still host ballgames, and other event such as sock hops, and are having a Hoosier Reunion ALL-STAR Classic Basketball Game on June 1st. You can even rent the place and bring in your own teams to play, hold wedding receptions, parties, etc... If you'd like more information about it you can visit their website: http://www.thehoosiergym.com/

This is a video the volunteer told me about and it shows how the gym and some of the surrounding area were altered/captured for the movie...

I also learn that another one of our local gyms, ( Hinkle Field-house ), was used in the movie as well.

    Have a great day, Jeff...

This is the Main Street of Thurmond, WV. This scene was used as the main street of Matewan, WV in the movie "Matewan". In the movie, there was a wooden sidewalk in front of these buildings.

This scene was not used in the movie since it is obviously of the former Thurmond National Bank but the sidewalk in the movie extended to the left end of this building.

Here in So Cal, it's The Rock Store!

Tons of history on this place, with many movie and commercial's shot on the property. The weekends are usually pretty crazy with moto's and auto's of every shape, size & color. It's a "gotta see" place.

Sorry, I forgot to show the bike.

Awesome shots. We Alabamians got ripped off with Forrest Gump's reference to Greenbow (doesn't exist to my knowledge) and Bayou la Batre in particular because it wasn't filmed here :waysad:fpalm in scenic southern Alabama. Bayou la Batre is my morning breakfast pitstop :D Grits? I highly recommend 'em :evil
