Is the fuel tank under the seat on this bike? If so, what is the common tank area used for?

Yeah, BMW is already doing this since 2000 on the 650's and now they also do it on the 700&800 cc's.
The common tanks area is used for the airbox, the oil tank and the battery.
Technically, it keeps the center of gravity not much, but a little lower.

Touring on a CBR250 is my kinda trip.
It was really nice.You just ride down the road and at the end is a sign and then salt for as far as the eye can see.I rode 300-400 yards out.Didn't want to lose sight of the end of the pavement and that sign.
