Some old pics of my camping trips and such on the 09 FZ1. It was a lot of fun on gravel roads and riding through the woods, literally. It was a 90*F weekend, five hours there and five back, and of course ATGATT in the hot sun. I smelled goooooooood.

Is the fuel tank under the seat on this bike? If so, what is the common tank area used for?

Yeah, BMW is already doing this since 2000 on the 650's and now they also do it on the 700&800 cc's.
The common tanks area is used for the airbox, the oil tank and the battery.
Technically, it keeps the center of gravity not much, but a little lower.
