thank you all for the warm responses.

heres one of my older son on the rm, looks like just before he stepped up to the 105.

when he turned 18 he bought the 98 cbr. it was set up as a stunt bike. we bought another junker cbr and swapped over the gas tank and less damaged rims. i was concerned at first of the prospect of him riding a crotch rocket but now i have come to love the performance of these bikes. his experience racing off road has made him a better rider than i am. dirt bike bars really improve the riding position for me, and the crash cage gives me plenty of options to move my feet around. i took over the '98 when he bought a 2001 cb 600 f4 which had been sitting for years outside with 1500 miles on it. we replaced the tank, went through the fuel system, new tires, tore the plastics off, put dirtbike bars on it, here it is...

rode down in early june to meet up with my young son who was attending a team wrestling camp in northern ky. we camped at kincaid lake state park. i rode over to dry ridge ky one day to check on a skate park that i had helped build and on the way back rode ky 330. truly spectacular and it did not end there. 7 hour ride home and every road as good or better than the next. kentucky rules.

this was on the way down. oh 52 along the river near shawnee state forest i believe

    and before i left

thank you for the complement and i would love to ride anytime. pm me if you want to come down. advrider is now set as my homepage. i'm riding to west virginia tomorrow, i'll be back wed.

Here's my Sportster. Taller suspension, quieter/better performing exhaust, no badges, mid foot controls, standard handlebars. Covered in water spots and crap from a nice cool rain ride this morning by choice. Also, ridden with normal full protective gear.

It's the stuff of Harley pirates' nightmares.

It's still too much chrome for me, but you can't be too picky when buying used stuff. I have a box full of crap parts I had to remove and swap after I bought it. Some of those chrome pieces may still find themselves introduced to a powdercoat machine in the future. It's definitely a work in progress.

For now it just gets ridden everywhere as my commuter and fun ride - averaging about 1300mi/month.

I've unintentionally ended up with a motorcycle that both Harley people and metric people don't like. :ricky

New member here, this is my '97 TW200 with almost 4500 miles. Really like this bike, sometimes I get the itch for a bigger one that will do highway speeds but just cant bring myself to sell it.

    Sold the VStrom.

I was going to buy a BMW, decided to save my cash and bought a Stella instead for something different and cheap.

This thing is a blast to ride.

These are the two I get to ride. One belongs to me and the family and the other to the SIL, whose job allows him to only ride on weekends. He graciously lets me ride it through the week when I want.

Thanks dudes. It seems to stay dirty so it's only beautiful from a distance. Right now it's covered in crap because I spent most of the day riding in a solid rain yesterday just for fun. Standing up on the pegs splashing through mud puddles like a little kid. :D

I need an Outerwears for the K&N filter, or some kind of cover to keep the mud off. Some kind of textile bag for the rear fender or pillion area is needed for beer and parts runs as well. I have a flyscreen but rather enjoy the full wind blast with a FF helmet.
