Waterloo, Iowa. 7-17-2010. Pretty sure it's the shock. Now, which kidney do I sell to get a new one?

EDIT: Don't think it's the shock anymore. It was a coolant spew from the overflow tank, looks like a cracked seal in the radiator cap may have been the culprit.

I usually get high 30's low 40's on my ST1100 butt have gotten mid 20's in Nevada cruising at take me directly to jail speeds. Thats why I like the extra tank.

Any word on a new model coming out? Possibly something based on the new VFR platform? That DCT on a true touring bike with integrated luggage a la ST11/13 would be rockin'.

Just rumors of a VFR1200T model. No ETA, but Honda usually releases new-year models Labor Day weekend.

If that sweet 1200 came with cruise control, a larger tank, and (of course) DCT I would be ecstatic.

No question. I can envision Honda making the top sport-tourer on the market with this new V4 motor and DCT, higher bars, electric screen, larger tank, etc.

Any of you guys ever have any trouble getting your seat to latch? I hadn't until last night. There isn't any interference from anything as far as I can tell, but pushing on it and whacking on it doesn't seem to help much. Maybe I'm just not seeing something :scratch

I betting that the bolt holding the latch has worked loose. If the latch gets loose from under the frame the guts of the latch will fall out. BTDT. I bought a latch on Ebay and used locktite on the bolt and check it regularly. as a matter of fact my new latch fell apart as I was installing it.

Here's my 91 Pan European atop Loveland Pass, Colorado. I bought the ST 1100 new in 91, and put about 75,000 trouble free miles on her before
selling the bike in 08. I preferred the ST 1100 to both my 97 Connie and 05 FJR 1300, and as a result the older Honda outlived them both :D

I replaced the Honda with an 08 Triumph Sprint ST, and have no regrets as the Sprint eats up the mountain twisities where I live better than any of my
earlier Sport Tourers. (See pics below)

I sometimes miss riding the silky smooth ST 1100.... a perfect bike for what it was designed to do.

Loveland Pass .... Last ride on the ST 1100 in Sept 2008. [IMG]

The Triumph triple atop Loveland Pass last week. The Sprint puts the "Sport" in Sport Touring :D
    [IMG]

Same day... different Pass. The Sprint and my old FJR atop Hoosier Pass while on the road to Breckenridge for a day of cycling.

Sure ! The Falco does double duty.... Sport bike and Super-Sport touring :D ( 2 pics)

    Sport ..... She's a keeper
    [IMG]

Sport Touring .... Givi panniers and top box plus helibars make it into a respectable touring bike. Snowshoes are optional :clap

Is that top case a Honda accessory or aftermarket?
