The last day of fall at Deal's Gap....
I'm not an expert by any means, just internet knowledge, which I know is suspect,
but, that won't keep me from commenting.
Adding a top box is the general reason for high speed wobbles. The top box is not an approved accessory in the US by Honda.
There is a ton of info about this on the st1300 boards.
I looked because I am considering one also.
Actually, the rare bikes affected, seem to those with a *loaded* top box, *and* the stock rear suspension. The issues started with some police bikes in Europe, which usually carry lots of equipment. I have never read a story of the wobble on a bike with an upgraded rear spring or shock.
The rear spring that comes with many bikes (including my ST1100 and R1200GS) are too soft for most riders. An industry standard "person" is 170 lbs, which is a number from long ago, and is intended to average men and women. For example, the FAA uses that number as a standard person for aircraft weight (smarter pilots use a larger number!).
Most of the world's male people are heavier than 170 lbs, especially those here in the US!
New look, From this:
To this, (back to stock).
Beautiful ST. I kind of like the before version better. Dig the windscreen and the lip!

After looking at the before version for 6 years :eek1 , it's time for a new look!
Here is my 07 ST last week in front of Pensacola lighthouse at the Naval Air Station. I am loving every mile on this bike.
Just 8,000 miles from home:
