    Mine.............

It's a 1999 1100GS which I bought this summer with only 11,000 miles on her and in A1 condition & completely stock, with the exception of H&B Bars and full Ti Remus.

I took these off and sold them, to refit the stock exhaust

I plan to install Ohlins on her as the only mod

    I already have a 1150Adv............so the 1100GS is a great addition and a different bike to ride:D

You're not the only one, and I don't get it. Why do you need more than one R1xxxGS? :dunno

    Dear Ernst,

Thank you for all the details. A few days ago I have sent you a pair of emails about the R3B.
Now I got more informations on this post (I didnt see it before..).
Let me ask please a further question:
how / where do you suggest to fix the headlight?
This is an important issue I think.
I already ordered a 20 cm diameter headlight from a Dutch store.
Please, could you give me some suggestions how to build a proper bracket?

I hope to build my own R3B2, if you agree with the name
    :1drink

    Thanks a lot!
    Yours,

    gioi - sicily

    PS:
Are the TCK 80 so dangereuse in wet road? I thought to use them also for each day..
They look so great and wilde on the GS!

    I did 10,000km on an 02 1150GS before I bought my 1100. There's not that much difference.

How did you get the plastic side pieces to fit so nicely up against the 1150 tank?

Here's a shot of my '95 with Givis on it. What a bike. 44k on the ol' clicker so far...I'm hoping I can squeak out a good 80~90k before heading off to 12GS land. Lot's of great examples in this thread...but I've gotta admit, the one that starts it off really kicks some serious ass! Talk about sweet. Well done building that bad boy up

Which pieces are you referring to? The metal tanks for the 1100 and 1150 are the same (excluding the Adv tank, of course.)

You'll need the bracket of an yamaha SR500, which can be modified so it hangs under the top bracket, and is supported by a "ski" on the headstock, in future i will make somemore pictures to explain the modification, so watch R3B in the future, although it will take this lazy motorbiker some weeks to percolate it into a understanable story.

Nooow, they're not dangerous, it's more like the grip of tourances now, while the german made TKC's had more grip in the cold Anakees, and the same dependable incoming slide behaviour.

The Korean TKC is more like the Tourance, "now you have grip, and then you don't have anything anymore"

Very nice. I REALLY like the look and doing this would also cover up some deep scratches on my Jesse's. Does the undercoating require the clear coat to be durable or would it rub off without it?

Or...I'm guessing a coat of spray can bedliner would suffice, based on the number of tanks coated with it I've seen here in other postings

Yes, I am a dealer so that's my excuse. The last time I rode mine I decided I am not getting any younger, stronger or taller. So I put Hyper Pro shorter shocks on it and shaved a bit of weight. Kept the ABS because I like it. Put on Conti road attacks. Now it looks like a giant supermoto. Barb
