Greg, I read your blog the other day and was quite impressed. If the story/history of your bike doesn't demonstrate that the GS is a bullet-proof bike with longevity, then I don't know what does. It's great to know that one can buy a used bike with such high mileage and still get several more years and miles out of it.

118,490...I beat the bike up on the TAT in September, rode 2500 miles back home and haven't touched the bike since. I blew the fork seals out on the trip, bought replacements and still haven't put the new ones in.

In fact, this last weekend, I washed it for the first time since before the TAT trip. It is rock solid and feels better riding now than it did when I got it. I have no doubt I will see 200,000 on this machine.

@Buffalo Bill, what kind of projectors are those on your bike? They look like some that I am going to buy, and mine are cheap. Do they improve lighting on the bike drastically?

Piaa 510 lights....I have two sets, one driving light and the other set is fog....I used to run both sets on the bike, but recently took one set off...Both sets worked well for those applications..take a look at the second picture in my posting to see the bike with two sets of 510s mounted up...

You know, I've looked at the new 1200 GS and GSA and I think I'm sticking with the 1150. It just looks better. The fuel tank on the 1200 just makes the bike ugly, all that plastic. But, that's just my opinion, and opinions are like a$$ holes, we all have one.:1drink
