Very nice cool setup with the 4 piaas.
New to me 2001 R1150GS.
I had owned my ST1300 for 11 years and my KLR for 8 years and I was looking for something in between. Something that would handle the highway better than the KLR and the back roads better than the ST. I think I found it. This GS was owned and babied by a friend since new. It was serviced within an inch of it's life and had about 75,000 km on it when I picked it up a month back. I've ridden it enough this fall to develop a short to-do-list over the winter but otherwise it's ready to ride. I'm looking forward to some great rides next year.
Here's a couple I've had quite awhile, the '02 GSA sans ABS was bought new and I picked up the '01 in 2003. Probably my two favorite BMW's ever, including a herd of newer ones.
Quatal Canyon, Ca.
I have a new to me r1150GS also. How is the Wolfman Tankbag on your bike? What model is it?
You have got to be many GS rider's hero.
I'll give this a try.
It's an Explorer Lite. I originally bought for my KLR about 3 years ago but it fits perfectly on the GS. It's great bag, perfect size for me and it doesn't get in the way. I recommend it.
Went for a ride Sat. It snowed Sun. and today. My last pic:

A relatively new to me 03' @ the world's highest skating rink just south of Almaty, Kazakhstan
Just picked it up a couple of a weeks ago.
2001, ABS, service history, one owner and 21,000 klms!
Next step is to fit a Ural chair to it. All good.
Dude! How'd you end up around the world? And where did you find such a sweet GS over there? It's a long way from Ted's Steamed Cheeseburgers.
So what kind of coincidence is it that two guys from opposite sides of the earth both have Gumby in their avatar and they buy the same 15 year old bike. Similar tastes?
It is a bit scary isn't it! Have you gone to the dark side as well (sidecars)? I had a 2004 GS a few years ago, great bike, just a bit tall for me. I reckon with an outrigger to hold me up, all will be great. Cheers Ian
I think sidecars are pretty cool, and I thought about getting one a few years back. Then I took one for a test drive and didn't really like it. I think I'll stick with two wheels as long as I can. I find this GS is about the same height as my KLR was so I should be alright on the forest service roads. I'm looking forward to seeing some pics of your rig when you get it hacked.
I'd rather have a hack than a trike or the Can Am but right now I'd like a leaner
But after a few more years A Scram-Hack will be my ride. Just hate to build one.
Found this one just north o' Boston. Had it shipped over when I moved here for work. 2 years ago I had a KLR in Conakry, Guinea.
Been getting around as of late
Hallo,it's very very prettty! Is that upper feder shorten by you so you puted an extension from r1200?If so do you have another photo from below? Thanks!
