I just bought a ttr 250 today. Where do I start.
What upgrades do I do first?
There is a performance issue. At higher Rpms it kind of cuts out. Any ideas where to start.
Also want toile it street legal. Where do I start with that.
Is this the official ttr thread?

    Here are my new rides....

    TTR600R 2002 10,000kms..

    TTR600R 2001 4,000kms (totally stock)...

Simple air cooled, comfy seat, proper suspension, minimalist retro kick start, light enough to pick up when thrown down a ditch and enough power for the road sections - and pretty reliable.

Going to give one of these a shot at a long long distance ride - last ride on my current model Tenere was good but not nimble enough for the single trail or robust enough for real remote area damage resistance (radiator damage just by dropping it on to a rock).

Hope I'm not full of :topes

    Happy trails

Just brought this home from a fellow inmate. 2000 TTR 225 w/ title, Baja Designs lights, heated grips, and HDB guards.

So are most XT225 parts interchangeable with the TTR225? I'm not looking for anything major but a rear rack option and a larger fuel tank would be nice later on.

    Hello

Here is my next project since I sold my XT660R. It is a Yamaha TT600RE 2004, have mounted a WP 48mm front fork from a KTM. The stock front fender was almost bolt on. I you have a mehanic workshop near it is not a big job to mount a WP fork on it.

Here is how my XT660R looked like before I sold it.

Took her out for a short trail ride. It was a very good time and the bike did great.

    Hey Gnuttis

As well as my two TTR600R models (see earlier post), I have the same TTR600RE as you and am in the process of doing the very same thing with some WR450F forks and triple clamps.

Did you use the stock steering stem or get one made up? Are the forks when installed longer than the original TTR600RE units?

Your XT660 looks awesome - nice piece of work.

    Keep those photos coming.

    Cheers Tony

Suspension was terrible on this bike and had to change it fast. Found a Front fork with tripple clamps from a KTM450 Steve Ramon Edition 2005.
The front wheel came from a Shineray XY250 and it is bolt on the KTM front fork. I went to a mehanic wotkshop and they did a copy of the KTM stem to fit with the TTRE
bearings and it went really easy for those how got right machines. :)
The front headlight is a Acerbis Halo. A funny thing is that I took the caliper holder from the KTM and mounted it to the stock TT600RE caliper and it fitted straight on and the brakepads are identical
how could I have this luck? :D

Now I wainting for a rear KTM wheel to be modified with a spacer, thanks again from 3rad from helping about the spacer. The winter planning is to paint the frame black but now I only want to test the bike.

Here is some picture, hope someone get some idea to do the same mod! :D

Here's my work in progress. WR450F 2006 front end full swop to TTR600RE. Bolts straight in with the addition of two large shim washers under the top triple clamp......
