    STZOG,
:clap great pics. A 'well dressed' xtr. Those tyres look much more useful than mine at the moment! Where were they taken?

Here's my new XT660R. Has about 400 miles on odo, still missing a bash plate/ crash guards.
i was thinking of sw-moteh bash plate + crash guards but the touratech bash plate is HUGE. This is exactly what i was looking for.

    Made a few pics:

The setup: Sw-motech quicklock sideracks and toprack, Zarges alu panniers, bags-connection rear bag and tank bag (not on the pic), touring screen, handguards, tomtom rider2 gps (not on the pic)

What I love about those pannier racks and rear bag support is that i can dismount the racks in less than a minute (quicklock system) and when removed, it looks like a normal bike again (http://www.twistedthrottle.com/article/articleview/36/1/9/)

This bike would do all that a large percentage of U.S. riders want to do..... Cheaper and with a much larger dealership coverage then say my F650 Dakar.

I have no idea why Yamaha is so behind sharing this bike here. Maybe they like KLRs dominating the Wild West??!

    Enjoy your Rides all!!!!!

I agree whole heartedly. It fits the niche between the road oriented F650 and the slow, heavy road oriented KLR.

Hello all XT660 and Yamaha fans. I hope you'll join me in supporting a campaign to let Yamaha USA they should import the XT660 model to our country.

I'm a big XT660 supporter and hope if you are a fan as well, you'll send an email or phone call to Yamaha USA. (If you're not a supporter, please don't post-whore and start bashing). If you have something positive to contribute it's welcomed, specifically an email address!

This is my XT660R 2007. Very good with few modifications, bigger fuel tank, new 2-1 exhaust system, customiced seat and more. Very good bike that I rode around the world last summer. No problems at all !

    Here's my XT660R fully loaded.
Did a little Germany trip few weeks ago, 3500km.
Had no problems whatsoever, and thanks to Airhawk which saved my butt :D

The bike was so heavy with me (115kg) and the stuff on it (tents, sleeping bags, food, etc etc., it got great wheelies because of that :) Also the fuel mileage was affected a bit. Still, it is a great bike to ride.

Btw, don't buy the Yamaha original touring screen. It sucks, a lot of buffeting, it would be better to use original small screen or www.off-the-road.de touring screen.

Nice to see the thread appear again. Here are a couple of recent ones of mine. I have fitted a new TT Bashplate, a higher screen, some handguards, and a TT rack on the back.

Nice pictures Piipz - hope you had a good trip, I have done many trips around germany. How did the KTM get on? I have been looking at a 2000 model similar to the other one in your picture as a second bike.
