Next year I will participate in the Libya Rally. Originally this rally was in Libya (first edition in 2008), but due to the war they had to move to another country. Next year will be Morocco.

This rally is a real cross country rally (different bivouac every day) and has Dakar style stages (Day 1 starts with a 420km special, day 2 with 40 km of dunes in Erg Chebbi). Check the presentation below for full details. 2600 km in 7 days with hardly liaisons makes this a challenging rally.

Anyone else thinking of joining this rally?

    Good luck with the rally.

Don't even have a bike yet but i'm dreaming about doing this rally in the near future.

With 6 months to go there are already over 100 registrations. This is going to be a good one! :clap

For the moment, and with another 6 months to go, this is the situation per vehicle:

    4×4 cars: 21
    Race trucks: 3
    SSV & buggies: 4
    Quads: 11
    Motorbikes: 28

The racing track to Libya is full of adventure trip. Best of luck for this rally however I am willing to dare such adventure but don't have confidence to participate. I will enjoy watching all the scenes on air.

    Hi!

I did "Libya Rally" this year and it was a great event!
8 "Dakar"-Stages in Moroc and really exhausting!
    But: perfect organisation and roadbook!

Our team will come back in 2014 too!

@ Dick: it is no "adventure" trip, cause it is not in Libya - it is in Moroc!

Hi Christian, good to see you will be back in 2014! The 2014 edition is going to be even more exhausting, so lots of training to do in the next 6 months :D

The route of day one has been changed slightly :evil. The rally will start with liaison of 240km followed by a special stage of 330km. The first ones have to leave Fes at 4am :rofl. It is getting to look like a real Dakar stage.

My bike is ready to race. Had to change one inlet valve shim and the water pump seal started leaking. In two weeks time it will be on transport to Maroc.

Long first day indeed... I think it was even more than you mentioned.

    240km liaison - 260km SS1 - 40km liaison - 130km SS2 = 670km total on the first day :D

After day one, hardly any tarmac in the remaining 6 days. Finish at plage blanche near Fort Bou Jerif, instead of Agadir.

Looks like Orga are only showing top 10.

Does anyone know all riders standings?

I'm trying to follow a mate who is racing.

well they were... Pietro Pasti had a bad fall and damaged both shoulders :cry, Stigliano stopped to help (and it looks had no his time back). Just a pity because his following stages were really impressive! And today it looks the leader Van Ginkel broke a shoulder too :eek1 , Stigliano assisted him but this time on the stage too, his bike is really beautiful :)
