Here is the new one. Very southern Seward County (one mile N of Saline county line) along the Blue River. The marker denotes the first school district in Seward county -- but I've not ever been able to verify that information with any other source. This was also on the Nebraska City - Ft. Kearney Cutoff for the Oregon Trail. (You can still see wagon ruts in many places in Nebraska, one is on Audubon's Spring Creek Prairie just west of Lincoln). At the time, this location had been considered for a new state capitol, but Lincoln (Lancaster) was chosen instead. The road this is on is named for the town that no longer exists. The only other physical reference to the town is 1 mile NE and is a cemetery of the same name. Closest route to pavement is maybe 4 miles of gravel, or 2 of gravel and 1 curvy dirt road (don't do the dirt if wet -- it's in the river bottom and the dirt road will likely be impassable via road bike).

I have a close up of the marker if any hints are needed.

I had a hell of a time finding the exact location - turns out even Google Street View had it. I went by on the computer a couple of times last night and missed it. Approx location is shown on Seward Co map as "Oregon Trail Marker" though.

OK - I must confess I got this tag back on June 30. I've been wanting to use this one for a long time but it was out of the original area. Pics are facing north. Ride a bit further north and you can shop for antiques - a bit north then east and you can test ride an Enfield or Triumph... tag63017.JPG tag630172.JPG

I was NOT able to find it on Google Maps before I went to the actual location - only after. Used a Seward Co map and some directions I found in a book with a Google search. I wasn't 100% but figured I could find it. It was one of the tougher ones I've done.

I like these new tags. You guys are doing a great job finding interesting and out-of-the-way locations.

Did you take those pictures Jun 30 or yesterday? If you took them on 6/30 I think that qualifies as file photos. No? #4 - File photos are NOT permitted. ONLY photos you take yourself. You gotta ride to play this game.

Mike did ride, and did take the picture himself. That's his bike in the photo.

No doubt. Did he ride there with the tag in his possession? So we can use old pictures to place tags? Just asking for a clarification.

The other 3 TOR games I play the tag pictures have to be after the grab. Or at least the same day. You have the "tag" and are taking it to a new place.

I've ridden by dozens of places that I thought would be cool tags and didn't take a pic because I didn't have the tag. I passed on grabbing a tag because I wouldn't have the time to ride to a new place. When I start riding again I'll have to store up some file photos, vacation pics, etc. This game got a lot easier.

As a clarification, rule #4 regarding File photos.

This is meant to disallow anyone from dredging up any photo off of the internet and using it to capture a tag.

If it's YOUR bike in the photo, and you rode it there YOURSELF, and YOU took the photo (or are in the photo), it doesn't matter if it was today, yesterday, or months ago. You still got there on your bike.

Mike didn't have to tell us that he was at his tag location on an earlier date. Let's not worry about when someone got somewhere. Instead, let's have a good time.

Can we get a handicap rule exception since one of our players (me) has a broken arm? just kidding.

BTW, the bomber tag is way cool. Took a few minutes of googling to find it. Wish I could ride there.

I wouldn't normally operate that way, but it made sense to stop when I was heading that direction anyway. I've been by there dozens of times in the last 27 years - didn't see the point in one more solely for the game. Just think it's "way cool"...

If anyone is heading to a certain British bike dealer's rally on Aug 18-20 that might be a good time to get this tag:wink:
