That was really cool, thanks for posting the video.
I love this kinda stuff, thanks for posting!
Thanks, that was interesting.
So any of you "ole timers" remember Dogpatch USA?? I used to go there when I was a kid.
An image I know well! If the photographer taking this pic turned around they'd be looking at where I lived in from 4th grade to when I left after highschool graduation. The house I lived in has since burned so it's now an empty lot.
Wow, the memories. Thanks for posting.
Edit to add:
About 200 yards beyond the house is where the White and North Fork river's meet. About a dozen miles up the White is where the Buffalo River ends (joins with the White). Directly accross the river in the mountains you can see in this pic is the Ozark Nat Forrest and the now-popular Push Mtn Road. I was a gravel road when I lived there.
Good reads, thanks!
Been there several times. Yeah, I'm old.
Not as old as me.
Was a little cave near there too that was in a guys front yard? IIRC, was kind of a neat thing.
for the record don;t even think of tresspassing there now.
A couple years back some prick on an ATV nearly or did kill himself on a low hanging cable. :eek1 Anyway, he or the family (can't remember) sued the current property owners. Won the case cost them millions so now they will press charges and try to get you thrown in jail for being on the place.
There was talk of and work started cleaning it up, to open a Biker aka Pirate trap/flea market place. I don;t know what the current status is.
It was topic of discussion over on http://www.undergroundozarks.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=3
Be advised that most of it is teeny boppers on the forum that seem to get their kicks from tresspassing but not hurting/taking anything but pictures.
I just found some more info on this..
I remember being there on a family trip in the late 70's i would say... Was a pretty cool place!
Nice work Doc!
Dean, I contacted these folks asking them if they wanted a pic of the old school for their site and I gave them the link to that post of yours...they may ask you for permission to use the pic so heads up
That's cool, Charlie's was a more flattering angle. This neighborhood landmark burnt in 77-78? due to a lightning strike, not AR though.
I knew I had a pic of the old bldg,,took a few days to find it :huh
No picture or link. ???
I went by this place on Sept. 20, 2008 and have wondered what it was every sense. Thanks for pointing it out.
The pictures I took of it. http://encyclopediaofarkansas.net/encyclopedia/entry-detail.aspx?entryID=6269

I have no reason to ride there since the girls are gone. Some of the othere here might like to visit the livestock.
Wish I knew how to put up pictures of Graysonia.
