I have an '07 TE510 and have slowly but surely been losing the functionality of all the lighting equipment. First the signals went, then the headlight and tail light. I fall down entirely too much and am thinking that I have probably knocked a wiring harness connection loose but I am wondering if anyone else had something like this happen to them. The 2 fuses under the seat test OK. Thanks.

I thought that all those wires on mine were awfully light and fragile. I cut off the rear signals and looking at the wires, I figured that I would have to run new ones. Not many wires and anything exposed to the air would corrode in a hurry.

If you crash a lot, check the wires. Cracked will cause corrosion and on light wire, corrosion = death.

The bike is well sorted out now. I did 600+ miles in 4 days around Utah in November and the bike ran flawlessly.

The issue I have w/ the bike is the narrow ratio gear box. The smaller ratio gears work great in the technical stuff, but not so well when things open up. I tend to do a lot of dual sporting and long 200-300 mile day rides and need the longer legs of a wide ratio gear box.

At 75 mph the Husky is running at approx. 6500-7000 rpm, while the equivalent wide ratio KTM is loping along at 3500-4000 rpm.

    Simple as that.

So long Husky fans. It's been a nice ride, but I've betrayed you and gone Orange. [IMG]

    Let the modding begin:

In the end I could not live with the vibrations and the short gear ratios. I also preferr the simplicity and reliablity of a carbed bike versus an EFI bike.

Let us know the pros/cons of each bike after you get some miles on the KTM.

    Sweet!
I have a TXC450 studded up. The extra bit of power of the 510 would be nice with the heavy tires. I'll be using the power of my 510 to push a Timbersled this winter. Just need some free time, now.
