    Hi all,

I'm doing the "longest day" this year.:rofl
I've made the required leave booking's.:huh

I have just started the mapping:deal

Just wondering who else is going to be leaving from the QLD coast?

Does anyone have any route advice?

Does anyone have any words of wisdom?

Does anyone have bike setup advice?

    All advice / comments welcome.:clap

    I don't know how to add a link. ( help anyone )

    My understanding is...

On the longest day of the year you get a your motorbike and start riding toward Cameron Corner.

    Rules.

    1. You must leave from the coast.
    2. You must be riding a motorbike.

Anyone got anything else to add?

    Not quite.

Firstly, it's always the 21st of December, it doesn't matter if the actual longest day of the year falls on the 22nd or 20th.

There is no set start or finish point, but it is generally start east and head west.

Start time is sunrise, end time is sunset.

Cameron Corner is basically a meeting point, some go further and then head back there after the sun goes down and they end there run, some may get there well after sun down.

    Couple of things to consider.....

You really need to keep your eyes out for the animals in the morning.

And it can get pretty hot. This was just east of Thargomindah at just over 50c! Fortunately that was the day after the LDR on the way home, but it was hard work in that heat.

And sunburn is a factor as you are riding into the sun all day.
