I like that color. But if you're gonna paint it I'd go black.

unless you go with pink and bukkake artwork like that Manhattan douche, i don't think it's possible to make an RS-faired bike look bad. I always thought the dark green metallic of the late-90's/early 2000's 5-series would be killer

My 77 RS had been resprayed w/ a dark blue Chrysler/Dodge color when i got it and looked quite good.

the coat was mostly good, but in a cool way the re-spray flaked off in places revealing the original '77 silver/blue and hand painted Berlin pinstripes

I do prefer black frames on BMW bikes. If/when i get a 12GS i'll powdercoat the rear subframe black :nod

I was going to vote for black with white pinstripes until I saw this solid black beauty....hmmm, pretty nice!

I do like that blacked out scooter...it's what I'm doin' to my project...R100/7 with an RT fairing...everything blacked out, including most of the fasteners, very minimal flash on it...no stripes, no graphics, a MAN'S motorcycle!!!

all my vintage BMW's are black like they should be with the exception of my RS. It totally confuses guy's that have limited bmw knowledge. i too had to pick a new color for the repaint as i did not like the orginal.

I wrestled with that for a while. I do like the white but I decided to do something unique. It is not going to be stock ever, so no point in being purist about it. I picked the color then sprayed it. Then as I started putting the pieces on the bike I thought I really effed up. Too much work to do over so I striped it with vinyl temporarily but now the color has grown on me and I like it.

The rattle can black has become a permanent fixture. 200K+ on the clock, just rebuilt the gearbox and fitted a new clutch so I'll think about it in another 50k or so...you can't rush these things.
