Hi there I will be in Madrid the weekend of December 16th and am looking to possibly rent a BMW and do a two day ride, spending the night hopefully somewhere scenic or either just a real happening town. I am just your average bloke from the USA and at least you guys drive on the correct side of the road so maybe I have a fighting chance but I definitely dont speak the language.

Any suggestions on a good route and place to stay on a saturday night?

    Hi,

Welcome to Madrid . We have a lot of interesting roads at a short distance from Madrid. Due to the winter season, I'd suggest avoiding the north side (mountains, so: snow, cold) and focus on the south area. Toledo, Talavera de la Reina, Aranjuez, Alcalá de Henares, all in less than 100km range from Madrid.

IF you want to go north (use highways and check weather forecast), don't miss Avila, Segovia...

Any of the places I mentioned have nice places to stay. check www.toprural.es (english version: http://www.toprural.co.uk/) and http://www.moterus.es/rutas-en-moto/por/comunidad-de-madrid for tracks

    Good luck!
