I have seen several Bob cats and one full grown Mt. Lion with a cub out on M1 and Twin Valley. I started this thread so i wont have to ride alone. If you get stuck or break down or worse get hurt out there with no cell service God help you.

Moday the 31st will work for me. You want to meet in Calistoga then ride up hwy29 to Highvalley rd in clear lake oaks. Earlier the better on meet time. How does 9am at Lincoln(main st in Calistoga) and Silverado trail (aka hwy 29) at La Prima Pizza sound?

Yes, no cell phone service and lots of road to walk on. I actually went to the soda creek store and called from their pay phone.

I'm in Sonoma and feel the same way about riding alone in the national forests. I barely escaped a couple of years ago on my 1150 - the year of the big new years floods. I don't usually have days off during the week, but occasionally. During the summer I'll be free after 11:00 every day.

We had a ball. It had rained a little on Tuesday so the dust was down and slightly muddy. The streams are getting lower on Twin Valley but we coudlnt ford BearCreek its still way too deep. Glad I brought my snorkel with me one creek was over the cylender heads. My buddy droped his bike in a small creek and got a small ding on his tank from some rocks. I had a few close calls but dabed at the right time.:eek1 Feet got soaking wet and were like raisins at days end but all was good at the end of the day.

I hooked up with BigDog from ADV it just so happens he lives about 25 miles from me in Napa Valley. We hit the trails behind Clear Lake. Bartlet Springs and Twin Valley. Bear Creek is passible by Moto now. We splashed through a couple good creeks. We had a blast, keep this thread in mind if you want to ride during the week.

Hey all. I live in Sonoma. I have a plated XR650R, and plan on being up in Clearlake Sunday, April 13th through Tuesday April 15th. My folks have a cabin in Clear Lake Park, so it's a great staging place to go ride. I plan on riding Bartlett Springs, Twin Valley Rd, over to Pillsbury. If you are available, and want to ride one of those days, let me know.

Jeez that is a long link....
Stewarts point head east(or come the other way) It is paved but not to be missed. From the coast it is dense and wet like a Lord of the rings movie location. As you head east it opens to your usual wine country CA hills and beauty. The road there is brand new and cambered just right. From Stewarts point the road entrance looks more like a private drive. It is narrow and dark nearly all times of day due to the canopy of trees. I saw many dirt roads shooting off here and there but did not have the time to explore..have fun
