Looking for quick feedback: CT70 values?

    What would you expect to pay for a good running CT70? How about one that's complete but not running, supposedly due to electrical issues?

    I have seen nice running examples in the 750 to 1250 range.

    The value of them is seriously impacted by whether or not you have a title. A titled frame and swingarm can be worth $500 + and I have seen complete bikes go for far less without one.

    Offer $300 you will spend $400 getting it running and fixed up. Then you will have a $700-$1000 bike. You here of higher prices but they are complete restoration as opposed to refurbishing what you have. I like refurbishing as you can ride it in the dirt and feel great. If you do the work yourself you can do it even cheaper.

    Agree w/ this...

    Pretty clean & running w/o title shows up and sells locally for $500-600ish. Dreamers ask a grand or more for beaters, but mostly don't get it.

    LOL Yeah I bought an 81 C70 Passport a couple yrs ago. It was in good, not great condition for the year and ran ok-- but not great. I paid $450 for it and have about $1200 in it now -- which includes a Lifan transplant, new tires, chain, electrical stuff, seat cover etc.

    When the bug bit me to get a CT70 and Z50, I just bought the Chinese 125cc clones to begin with. They both started and ran straight out of the crates, and continue to start and run reliably. They're just as much fun as the Hondas and weren't too tough to plate for the street. No doubt there will be more small problems with them than I'd have w/ a new Honda, but I bypassed the project/restoration hassle, and they were way cheaper, so it's a good compromise. I've got too many projects too. lol
