Currently in Cajamarca, Peru, and heading north. Would like a nice beach town, a hammock, a couple of frosties? Getting tired of the rain in the interior but???
Not keen on the big cities and don't really need any more churches. Just nice views, nice rides, nice people... Suggestions?
    Thanks.:ear

If you are looking for a fun beach town with surfing, a variety of accommodations ranging from hotels to hostels, good food and cold beer you may want to try Canoa:

On your way north up the coast Puerto Cayo is a beautiful but quiet beach:

I loved Ecuador and I'm sure you will enjoy the kind people, cheap gas, and amazing scenery.

    Cheers,

Quilotoa lake/ sloop is spectacular but not if it's raining.

Salinas de Guaranda is also a nice ride and has tasty chocolates.

Cuenca is a modern colonial town. a few breweries, good restaurants, beautiful roads around it.

I agree with all of the recommendations above, Canoa is a great place, further north is Mompiche - ride on to the beach at low tide and head north and you'll find some inexpensive cabins on the beach where you can relax.

Also, Playa Escondida near Tonchigue (betwen Galera and Tonchigue) is a great place for camping or inexpensive hotel - excellent seafood and very relaxing

We are in Canoa now and heading to Guayaquil tomorrow. Maybe we'll see you on the road?
