Couldn't justify $300+ in insurance AND $300 in tires for the winter...
Sent from my mobile.
Winter? What winter?
With Primmum our policy starts in February so adding a bike late in the year means we have virtually no insurance to pay. One year Stephanie bought a Ducati 750SS in September and the balance of the year's premium was $47.
Yes, and my little Triumph cost only about $50 from mid-August on....
Considering that the fall is the best riding season, this is a real bargain!
Unfortunately mine rolls over in June. They also want the full premium up front.

You should switch companies. Full price up front sucks.
I'm also with Primmum - I also agree its a great policy and price! Anyone on here should consider it.
As Steph said, end of season rate is incredible and the policies run from February.
I switched to TD and saved a ton of cash, seemed no one could touch their rates. Anyone else riding today? Weather looks fine! Meeting thump at Starbucks in Kanata on eagleson Rd at 9:30.
Just waiting for the fog to clear. If anyone here is in the Almonte area please post an update on the fog! Thanks....
I think TD and Primmum are one and the same.
Indeed TD did buy Primmum but TD also bought several other companies including MelocheMonnex. I don't know if TD will ever integrate its several subsidiaries. The last time I checked they were operating as separate entities under the TD umbrella. All of that to say that it is possible to get different rates depending on what TD subsidiary one deals with. Like some others here have mentioned I have acquired bikes at this time of year and essentially enjoyed a premium holiday with Primmum until February of the following year.

Gee Ted, that was great but I kept waiting for someone to shout "And now for something completely different - a man with three buttocks!"
Oh man! I wish I was out riding today... At least I rode to work... but it was killing me knowing how beautiful it was outside and myself stuck in the office!
Stephanie and I were out on a road ride and went 352 kms. Ended up very near Tamworth then turned around and did the Mountain road all over again. The roads North of 7 were quite wet and salty so we stayed South of it though our plan had been to go towards Foymount/Quadeville etc.
It was so warm I didn't even turn my electric jacket on once all day. Saw a high of around +15C at one point.
Juames and I rode some familiar dirt roads in and around Almonte, Clayton, Blakeny, and a few other areas. California Road and similar stuff... plus a few light trails but nothing nasty.
I made a poor wardrobe choice and rode with only a light technical fabric shirt as my base layer, then my pressure suit, and the outer layer was my "Kemptville dinner jacket" (as appropriately named by Hosebag). It was just fine between 12pm and 1:30pm, but for the 3 hours before and the 2 hours after, I was absolutely freezing.
I managed to tweak a hand guard and thump my hip pretty good during a low-side on some grassy two-track off Tatlock Road. No big deal, a few Advils and a drink of Jameson's will fix it up.

Having such nice weather at this time of the year is a real treat. ... It's just unfortunate it's only nice for about 3 hours during the middle of the day.
Definitely was a bit chilly, but still a nice day for a ride.
What is that white shyte everywhere..... arg
Don't know, but it does "crishhh crishhh" when you walk!
The "watch the Moab pics" time starts!
