Hey Mike, I'm thinking 990Adv-R inspired look.

Washing is for girls, I'm painting it not give it a perm and highlights!

Only problem, is I got to this point and started thinking about paint the frame too...but I've never taken a motor out of a bike before. :hmmmmm

Actually, when you think about it, painting it IS giving it a perm and highlights! If you didn't care what it looked like, you'd be putting money into performance parts, not paint. :lol3

Ok, Ok I just forgot to wash it...but even with all the dirt still on it, can't believe how light it is without all the plastic!

I would like to paint the frame black, but am a little nervous about getting everything back together after.

We used to take our British bikes apart and do things like paint frames and body parts and it can be done, as long as you're careful and document the process with pictures and notes, so you don't end up with a basket case in the Spring.

The biggest hurdle these days is the complexity of the wiring harness. British bikes had about 5 wires in the main loom. Modern bikes have far more.

Hmmmmmmm...orange frame sounds good. And the dismantle doesn't bother me, it's getting all the wiring and pieces back in the right spots after.

Pics, pics, pics. Manuals sometimes show cable routing, parts fiche shows 'washer this side, not that side'.

    And labels. Lots of labels.

I wired an entire bike once. If I can do that, you can get your frame stripped and back together, Juames! And I like the idea of the orange frame.

Just wanted to say hey to all you fellas! Life has been interesting here in Saskatoon, making me re-think my KLR and maybe go to something lighter around town and ( eekk...dare I say it .. ) Get a cruiser. Long ass drone's down gravel roads aint my thing. Sure do miss the trails around the Ottawa area! Ya dont know what ya got till its gone...
So Merry Christmas to all you guys and hope you all have lots of fun in the new year! That T-Cat looks awesome...Peace!
