    Hey Frazman...and others

Is the K&P Trail open for bikes? (motorized) I was under the impression that it was a hiking/cycling trail only.

I am transferring back to Eastern Funtario (Kingston, Perth, Ottawa) soon and would love to get hooked up with some good dirt rides. I'm on a F650GS and it loves to get dirty. Me too!:huh

I thought of maybe starting a Facebook group for E. Ontario riders to keep things organized. Use it as a ride board and shop talk vehicle for riders in our area. Any thoughts?

Latte's with NutraSweet and vanilla and peach flavoring to be precise, ah nothing like a weekend off to sit back at a Starbucks and enjoy the good life

    Seriously though, Facebook? :puke1

Hey Dialdin. Cool. I'll join the Ottawa Dual Sport group (not the BMW specific one). I'll post an ad in Kjiji to let other hopefuls know of it existence.

Hey Dialdn, was that you I passed last Saturday just outside Richmond around 4 pm. You were wearing a bright yellow/orange jacket on a the new GS. You waved on a DRZ and a FJ1200 riding two up.
either way that gs was a really nice looking ride....

    Facebook who will control it?hmmm.....?

Nope, not me. I was out on Sat but in the Almonte/Pakenham area. It was another twat on a GS :-)

Give up your soul to Facebook, it barely hurts.

I can't even remember the last time a saw a hiker or cycler along there. Lots of ATV's, trucks, cars, bikes, etc.
It' not a great quality trail or experience for any user group...but it links up a lot of them that are!

Definitely open for motor sports, people have cottages and whatnot along it. Last year I am coming home down the K and P, there is a large area outside of Calabogie that gets filled in with water, well I go for it as about a 100 km/h to show off to some atv guys that are staring at with a I wonder how deep look in their eye. Well deeper than I thought, went from 4th gear down to 1st in about 200m (almost over the bars) with a wall of water flying over my head. Just as the wall of water disappears and the crossing ends, whats in front of me? A mini van with a soccer mom, came so close to hitting her and the look we exchanged mad me laugh for the next half hour.

I am heading up to the cottage to put the power on this Thursday. Ottawa East-Hawkesbury-Harrington (Rouge road-all dirt) and back. Leaving 9 AM back by 14:00.
I went up 2 weeks ago. It was an eye opener. The Rouge was battle-scarred with mucho mud filled pot holes :evil, Kilmar rd. on return wasn't any better even though it's paved (in a Kosovo sort of way).
    pm me if interested.

Ah, some of my old stomping grounds. We used to go nuts on Kilmar Road 20 years ago. Now it's so bad I avoid it even with the GS :eek1 Hawkesbury and up the Rouge River road to Arundel and area is a nice couple of hour spin for me. I'll see what I can arrange for Thursday and let you know if I can make it.

    Cool
I loved Kilmar and the highway up from Lachute/Pine Hill (116?) 20 yrs ago whilst on a Ninja 900, but now.. Holy shit:huh . I guess making a quick buck is more important than taking care of the infrastructure. The cement and logging trucks are destroying what was once a great sport and touring road. That said it has now entered the realm of dual sport. One of the main reasons I sold the Bonneville for a KLR is due to those roads and truth be told the KLr is custom built to be beat to rat shit on stupid roads like that :D
    Anyhoo let me know.
