Nonsense. I MADE most of the trail on my strom with my wife aboard. There are some areas of deep sand and mud, but I'd let her off to paddle through most of it..... oh and the bridge was intact at the time.

It IS doable on a strom/GS and even an old TransAlp.... provided the rider knows how to handle his bike on 90% gravel roads.

Please tell me that's not Breaux Bridge! You think that would hold a beastly BMW and a bit thicker fella?

I SOOOOOOOO want to move back to Loooziana.

Atleast you know where the gear is that it is being well used. I think we have a decent trade for riding gear and stuff.:deal :fyyff

I do think I'll be getting my own boots this summer tho.

Thanks for showing me the L.O.T. I had a blast. The creek crossing was the best part, along with the warm welcome we received from the locals - "Could yall get the frick outta here". :lol3

Chip, Heath, Phil, I enjoyed riding with you guys. Hope we can do it again soon.

Pleasure riding with you too, although you made us go down more technical stuff than usual :eek1

Oh yeah, about the locals, don't forget the disrespecting part. Who knew dualsporting through a Meth party was disrespectful? :dunno

So ya'll ran across some unfriendlies? The tweakers at the meth party Scott and I crashed at the bridge/creek crossing were friendly as they could be-offering me a beer, and almost forcing me to walk down to the creek for the "Bruh, lemme show you the best spot to get across" bit of helpfulness.

That one guy, let's call him "Snaggle-Tooth" had the most fucked up set of rotten teeth I've ever seen. For fun, I've googled Meth Mouth before, and have yet to see a mouth like this guy sported.

Scott, thanks for showing us the area, I sure had a great time.

I wound up making great time back to Natchitoches, then on to Baton Rouge.

What a kick ass ride. Sorry I held you guys back on the fire roads... I just don't have the skills to roll that fast on loose gravel. The single track was definately where it was at. Thanks for capturing my "moment" in the air! I'm alredy Jones'in for the next ride. I've got a little work to do to the bike before I head back out, but all is good. I'm really happy with the way my tractor handled everything. I'm bringing the camera to be developed today and hopefully will have time to post pix soon. Wish I could invite you guys down to Lafayette for a ride, but most everythign around here is FLAT... It just wouldn't hold a candle to what you've already got mapped out. great meeting all you guys 7 I hope we can get together again soon!

Just one 350# , beer-bellied, flip-flop wearing, toothless woman. The rest of them were friendly, except for those little fearless attack dogs and, as expected, a chained up pit bull.

Good work on your La Outback Trail.
Afraid that once you cross US 190 the roads are gonna get long, straight, boring.
I have not been to the West Bay area in a long time but it's got some pretty good roads north to south.
Also some good stuff East of Oakdale.
A good section of beat up blacktop from east of Oberlin to just above Basile is fun.
Heck, they keep blacktopping everything down here. Ruining a bunch of good gravel roads.
    Keep up the good work.
