Better to plan for three days so you have time to stop and smell the roses. Maybe ride up to the start one afternoon/evening. Then spend two days on the loop, with the ride home at the end of the third day. My TAT experience was that 300 miles per day is a loooong day when you are on dirt and gravel roads. I think 425 is achievable but I know I would not have as much fun doing it.

Yeah you right. Maybe I'll cut out of work early and run up to the loop the evening before. Thanks

Thanks for the invite! What's your plan? Saturday and Sunday? Where you starting the loop from? Seems like I should run up there Friday evening and spend the night so I'm fresh for the trail Saturday morning

We're going to meet up after work Friday and trailer to the start for a fresh start Saturday morning. I've already been in touch with a local adv fellow that's willing to store our truck and trailer for the weekend. I'm sure we can find room if you'd like to throw your bike on.

This times 71! Too many miles in one day makes you wish you hadn't done too many miles in one day. Remember, things happen on long rides. Should I name a couple?

When I rode the Mississippi Hill Country a month or so ago CR53 was closed due to culvert replacement, That road is on the Bates-Gluk 3 track. There are ways around if the repairs are not finished.

Sounds great. I'll plan on riding up Friday evening and get a room around Canton or Madison I guess. If there's room on your trailer/truck I'd take you up on your offer for the ride home. You could drop me off at the Hammond exit assuming you're taking I55. Thanks again for the invitation!

There's a lot of people riding the TAT on WR250's. Your XR would do fine.

The Super 8 Madison/ Ridgeland off exit 112 ? (Gluckstadt Road) has reasonable prices and they will let you leave your truck and trailer on site while you are riding Mississippi Hill Country loop.

How about St. Francisville area one day this week - or this coming weekend?
