Ah yes! I really should look through the Central folder every now and then. Been spending too much time over on hondatwins.net drooling over the older hondas.

Hey dav_dman! I'm Barry's son, the solo WR250X rider in a group full of KLRs. I'm in the Greenville, IN area but work in Louisville. Dad's not too tech savvy when it comes to checking forums so feel free to PM or email me if you want to ride sometime. We're always ready to go. :1drink

will do Barry. Have you and Ryan both in my contacts now.

getting mri on my back tomorrow and consult with surgeon tuesday in indy. Hope to have surgery soon and be back riding hard within a couple of months. I can ride now, but not do other things i enjoy, like run with my dog. I'll be in touch before then to say hi but once the weather breaks and i'm healed up then i'm riding every day and would love an hour or two on the indiana backroads on a sat or sunday every week. The g/f has a ninja250 and likes the rides as well.

    catch ya later,
    Dave

Anybody heard anything good about the Acerbis fuel tanks? I read some reviews here and there. I found a discount through the military and figured I'd try one out. I figure it would help me keep up on some of the rides without having to stop every 10 miles for fuel.

Never owned one but know plenty of folks that do. They all seem happy with them. I have an IMS on my xrl. The extra fuel is worth the extra weight in my opinion.

Never heard anything bad about them and more fuel is always better, unless your riding something super technical.
I've an IMS on my WR and It's pushed my range out quite a bit, very pleased. Josh recently picked up a big tank for his Klr, maybe he'll weigh in. :ear

I've owned Acerbis, IMS and Clarke tanks. The Acerbis is the best of the 3, the quality and fit just seems better. They actually make the stock tanks for KTM's.

So a friend of mine is headed to Louisville from Indy on Friday for the weekend for some St. Patty's day festivities. I was thinking of shagging out of work early on Friday since the temps are going to be above freezing, and taking the BRP down to the Louisville area for the weekend. I heard Saturday is supposed to be nice. Anyway, if any of the Louisville gang wants to do a Starbucks meet-up at the Summit I'd imagine I could find my way there Friday afternoon at some point. Let me know.

I believe Greg is running an Acerbis on his Honda 650 and I know he likes it. I can't make much of a comment on Jerry's hand me down IMS for my KLR. I think most people run them so there can't be to much bad to say. I know I like mine for the price of course and I'll be putting it on for good really soon since I have increased my fuel consumption. It does seem pretty sturdy. I pushed and pried on it out of curiosity to see how it might fair in the event it hits the ground and I am sure I will be happy with it.

Josh I'm thinking about it myself if it isn't too cold and nasty. Forecast says chance of flurries and high of 39. Come on spring!

    Monkey Wrench?? I can't say I'm familiar...please explain.

Also, is anyone from this area going to be down at March Moto Madness in Tellico Plains, TN next week? We have a group of 5 heading down next Tuesday or Wednesday. Should be a good time!
