This is my very first post to ADV Rider, so I thought I would throw up some pictures of a little ride I did the other day in lower Calaveras County, which is in Central California in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada.

Here's a picture of the route I more or less followed:

Basically if you head due east from Stockton, California for about an hour this is what you'll see:

After going into the little quasi-ghost town of Milton, I visited the little cemetery there. The cemetery is over 150 years old, so I found some pretty interesting things:

As I drove up the foothills from Milton, there was a wonderful single-lane curvy roadway heading up into the mountains, at least it was wonderful until I saw the 1500 pound bull that was blocking the roadway! (at first I was much, much closer than this photo looks, but after the bull started staring me down I wisely backed off about 100 feet):

As everyone on this website knows, the best thing about having a dual sport motorcycle is you can pretty much go anywhere you want as long as it's not fenced. Here's a picture of me off the beaten path, no one around for miles and miles:

This area of the Sierra Nevada foothills has lots of interesting rock formations:

It may not look it, but I had one dirty little SuperMoto when I got home:

Nice ride, nice pics, nice country. :thumb

(Before they passed away, my folks lived in Jenny Lind, just north of Milton, so I'd go that way to Sonora occasionally.)

Love the patina of the old headstones. Rough country in the 1800's.
Good thing your bike is not red. That bull looked ready to charge.
    Thanks for sharing Armweak13.

Yeah that graveyard was actually really sad. Lots of kids there :(
Man when i first saw that bull I had come up on him and suprised him, at first it looked so big I thought it was a big black elephant or something. Haha. Then he saw me and turned like he was going to charge me like they do at a bullfight...I thought he was going to kill me!! Lol
