While you're there pop in to Knighter's place and interview him about Dakar'14
(It's only a short boat ride from Pyndon's place.)
He's been quite vocal about being there next year!
Pyndon for HRC WC role in 2014! I bet Pyndon would have a few 'disagreements' with the HRC bigwigs about 'bike setup'.
This is Knighter's EWC bike ready to ship to SA.
Member Wideload is a marshal so we can be sure of one interview. The riders are certainly more accessible than Moto GP its just getting the right moment. Your real battle would probably be getting past Radio TT who like most things on the Island probably have some monopoly for radio interviews You might wake up with the kippers if you tread on too many toes!
Seriously I would look to approach the non UK based riders and focus in on them so the folks back home get that ringside seat that your recordings do. The TT is similar to the Dakar in that it attracts the amateur with a dream and sometimes their stories are the most interesting. If you could get Manx telecom on board to help with the mobile charges that could make it a lot cheaper, but if you are coming over I guess you would be recording it then uploading it. Manx telecom could help with a dongle.
Sounds like a fun project let me know if you need any logistics input. I have a couple of connections over there that might be useful
Played on a couple of mad Sundays when I was younger, now these vids terrify me. Worth going, pack wet gear, weather can turn on a six pence...
Whats that old Manx saying if you don't like the weather there is a boat in the morning!
Interesting....he won Erzberg on first attempt.
One minute your riding in the sunshine, the next in thick cloud doing 10mph.
Very True.I have been sunbathing at Rhencullen whilst it was pishing down at the start/finish line.
Just for clarification, I have no plans to make it to the TT personally (yet). It's on the bucket list, though.
I absolutely think the privateer aspect of it lends itself to a similar approach as the Dakar call ins. If anyone here knows a privateer who wants to share their story, let me know.
Congratulations to Lyndon, crew, family, sponsors, RallyRAIDio and all ADV inmate support!!
Awesome to see this type of support in the U.S. for rally racing!!
Thanks to all that participated and supported, looking forward to the next project.
THANK YOU guys for your never-ending support of our sport and those who participate in it.
Finally finished catching up to this thread, though I'm still in Fiambala in the F5irehose thread.
Congrats Pyndon!!!!!!! It has been said before but bears repeating, the call-ins with Packmule and the constant efforts of the F5 crew to turn up every piece of media available make ADVrider the go-to source for information (and conspiracy theories) for the stay-at-home Dakar Dreamers.
Thanks especially to Pyndon for taking the time to share with us the highs(ide) and (fork)lows of the experience. You took us for a ride and I've never had so much fun riding bitch before!!!
Looks like Pyndon made it on yet another highlight reel!!
And thanks to you guys for being huge supporters of Rally Racing on ADV!
Thank you and others for the Rallyradio updates...TOPS. And Lyndon for making the effort to call in with such a tight schedule.
Enjoyed the whole rally enchilada...Was a pleasure dealing with you as well.
My shirt didn't fit, but my Dad said it would fit him, so another is on the way.
Cool gif. 6 turns o' the crank right there.
