Yup, the City of Rockland decided to deny our application to be a motorcycle dealer (even though we are already a used car dealer at the same location). Something about not wanting retail traffic in the industrial park we are in. Nevermind that FW Webb, Maine Oxy and many others who offer retail drive up sales are in the same industrial park. Town officials at their finest. :huh The only positive was that the State of Maine really worked hard for us to try and find a work around, but they could not, but it was nice to see the State trying rather than blowing it off.

Took a nice ride down to Sebago Lake today. Absolutely in love with the SV.

I need to pick up a windscreen soon, anything over 65 was alittle too much. I also need to get some tires, since these are the originals. :eek1

    Suggestions?

Hey Guys, heading your way in a week. Looking for a old RR bed that runs North to South that is probably a snow mobile trail. Saw a ride report on it a couple years ago but can't find it. Looked like the bridges had been redone and trail taken care of. I'll be on a loaded 990 but was wanting to get off the beaten path " somewhat " Nothing to severe. Can someone point me in the right Direction

    Thanks,

    Mike

Sounds like Dockingpilot's ride report. Find his profile and check out his ride reports.

    It can and does happen.....

came across a young fella last night who had just been knocked off his Katana by a deer which had jumped out of the right side ditch and hit him directly on the side of the bike, knocking him off and of course the bike going down.
a skinned knee was the damage to the rider, though I'm sure there will be some aches and pains this morning.

bike had a small hole rubbed into the case which dumped the oil and a broken mirror and scraped plastic.
deer was still in the middle of the lane not doing so well.

SP showed up and thanked us for parking with flashers, getting the deer out of the road then gave the deer its rest. Stayed till his dad showed up and we loaded the bike and deer on the truck....

As we pulled away Mrs BK said "hits close to home doesn't it...." not much said for the rest of the ride home...yes it does...

Continual reminders posted sure don't hurt.

Glad it wasn't worse for the kid.

Had a deer cross in front of me on the way to work this morning. I saw it with plenty of time to slow down and look to see if there were any more. And think about the times when you don't get any warning :eek1

saw 7-8 deer on Wed nite coming home in the same area. I think they were moving around due to the rain coming in Wed. nite.

    My sentiments exactly.

I'm always amazed and impressed to see what people do with so little. Ingenuity at it's best. :thumb

I'm looking to do the same thing and have orux maps installed on my tablet. But I'm curious why bing sat images are better? As far as the eye can tell google has a bit more detail.

it is best to check both GE and Bing in the area you want to ride. The date of the maps vary and the time of year the sat images were made can affect the quality of the image.

Bk is right. It seems that the image quality can very quite a lot from area to area. Bing has much higher resolution here in my neck of the woods, but poorer in other spots around the state. Orux maps on an Android tablet is an amazing way to navigate in my opinion. I had my Samsung in a waterproof bag (that still allowed me to view and manipulate it) that is velcro'd to my tank bag.

Nice ride to Pemaquid today. I like rt 129 alittle more though, less people. Rt 32 right next to Pemaquid looked like a fun road too, but I ran out of time.
