Thanks for the RR love, you guys!
    :raabia

Been trying to rest my typing claws, but we appreciate all the sweet comments!

Hey Phil! Uh oh. Leg injury? Hope it's not serious. Only 2 months til your TAT trip, right??
Matt says he runs 33-34psi in the front, 37 in the back.
And we still dent the hell out of our rims! even our woody's A60 superlaced front... :cry

Ronin120 - that's so cool you met hanksmybuddy!
Are you Pete or Mike or Dave? :D
    [IMG]

Oldtrucks - glad you got to re-live the Swansea steps! Isn't that video just like being there?

Rwelch360 - you weren't lurking, you were fully involved and actively participating!

trailrider383 - man, that thing IS an ejection seat! Thanks for the fun coaster clip!!
I know you were just kidding around, but what I really need are bigger pegs. My stupid little pegs are too slippery.

    Yay, Aimee!
I'm so thrilled you took your guy out for a ride!

larryboy - thanks for all the inspiration and support! and, you're still the best reference librarian, ever! :jjen
P.S. you really changed your sig line? :shog If I thought someone was going to quote that, I would have tried to say it prettier.

Nixels, you made so much popcorn! Wheee! (sorry, don't take that link personally. I didn't find much to work with...I don't think you like techno music or stringing xmas decorations)

Thanks HairBear, Eyes Shut, avocadofarmer (:scratch interesting ADV name!) and VFR!
So glad you guys enjoyed the report!
    :freaky

Thanks for all the nice comments, Sam!
we were happy to have you along!

Death Valley had so much BOOTY to offer - I was amazed.

Here's a quick list of fun things for you (Sam, avocadofarmer, all you DV trip planners) to keep an eye out for...

-Cabins! Matt and I saw a bunch, but there are at least 6 more that we didn't visit...
-The playboy magazine in south park canyon.
    -The cone up on lippincott.
    -The marble bathtub
    -U2 shrine
-Ballarat cemetery (there's a Rhyolite cemetery, too - we haven't seen that one)
-Booty, Ballarat-style poster on the wall of the store, the uncensored version
-the unsolved challenges from rider914 :evil

-The goldfish pond. Matt wanted to do underwater pics of the fish, but I see it's already been done!

Rob, those are awesome!! why didn't you post those when I said we were too chicken to put our camera in the water?

    - Bighorns (don't be fooled by little horns, like we were :lol3)
    - Dangly balls and meat curtains at the hot springs
    - the cute burro with the notched ear

and, all the Monkey-fighting awesome riding, of course!!
    :ricky

Looking forward to seeing this stuff in upcoming DV ride reports from you guys :deal
(that's a messed up sentence, but you know what I mean)

    Hey Bob, how's Zion??

Tomorrow we leave for the Mendo Rally, and matt's doing the sheetiron, but after that...
    no plans.
Idaho has popped up and is starting to flutter around our peripherals, but nothing solid yet.

We blew out our rear shock on one of these DV trips, so matt brought it in to SPS and got a new spring while he was at it.
Now the bike is even TALLER than before. :eek1
He's tippy toeing it by himself; just barely on the balls of his feet with me and some gear...

This Mendo rally is going to be interesting...
    my ankles are scared...:uhoh

    Okay, you guys -
    great seeing you again!
    take care :D

Jill is saying she would like bigger/ not so slippery pegs also.

[/QUOTE]Not too serious, Not broken anyway. We were away riding with another mate over Easter weekend. On a really dusty road, we slowed and turned up a sidetrack but he didnt see us until it was too late. Luckily nothing hit Dawn. My leg took a big hit. At least it stopped the bike from getting damaged. :eek1:eek1 There were quite a few "muther father" and "son on the beach" moments:p3rry:p3rry And a very long 3 hour ride to home.
We fly out to the US on August 11th :wings:wings
I have been running around 35psi in my front as well although have droppped into the low 20's in muddy stuff.
Cant understand why you would be denting your rims :wink: :rofl:rofl

Wow, Phil!! We're super excited for you guys. Hope you do a ride report! :deal
    p.s. Heal up fast!

Sorry we missed you, too, Dave. Especially since you came all the way from MD!

Aw, Rob. We're good. You've been our top supporter!! :nomystery
So, Matt had the best idea for my pegs.
He's going to add a row of grub screws along the top. That will be perfect!
That's really all I need. Just something to keep the rubber from being super slippery.

So we survived Mendo - no crashes, even with the new taller suspension. Whew.
My ankles are happy and safe. :D
It rained on our way up there, and being in the forest was a bit of a shock after Death Valley...
Also, we were riding with people this time. :eek1
It was different, but still really good.

All in all, it was a super fun rally!! My very first ADV rally and I had a blast.
    :kumbaya

The organizers did an awesome job and everyone was really friendly and welcoming. It was great.
If they have a Mendo Rally 2013, make sure you check it out.
    Our mini ride report here.

Matt made a really fun highlight video from the friday/saturday rides.
I'll share it here, since I don't think many of you are reading the Mendo thread...
(not HD, but watch it in 480 if you can)

Doesn't that make you want to get out and ride??
    :ricky

Summer is almost here, you guys!
    Go have a great one!

    Hey dustyrider,
I was just over in the Mendo thread, answering that very question! :lol3

    copied and pasted...

    Glad you liked the music!
Actually, there are 2 bands/songs in there.
    First:
Plankton Man (a.k.a. Nino Astronauta) - "Cosmonauta"

    Second:
    Tribuman & Akai4000 - "La Difference"

Thanks for the music, LW. I have to ask, how did Capt. Underpants get his name?

    haha, good question!

Our friend Aaron has been riding a long time, but is new to ADV and big bike touring.
He's really getting into it and we've been trying to think of a good ADV name for him...

When we were doing the single track, Aaron started getting hot (he was wearing old school leather Mx pants).
He made the pronouncement, "I think I'm going to do the rest of the ride in my underwear."

We all started laughing and the images we had in our minds ranged from leather thong to tighty whiteys to euro bikini...:huh

Turns out it was just bikeshort-type underwear, but
his knee pads had stars all over them - very Capt America!

So, riding in his underwear + capt america = Capt Underpants! :lol3

I think it's gonna stick. :augie
Now he just needs some lessons in posting and navigating the ADV site...

Brilliant! I'll bet he learns to post in order to exact (friendly) revenge.
I think the lesson here is, be careful what you say with the Wans and gang nearby.:rofl

    Nah, aaron's cool.
He goes to Burning Man and walks around naked - I don't think that photo is going to bother him a bit.
    :lol3

edited to add: I found out that he had signed up as Capt Underpants before I posted that!
Luckily, he thinks it's funny. :D
