That would be down in Furnace Creek... What the tourists think of as Death Valley.
I prefer the 30's and 60's
Gonna be real cold on top of Hunter at night, maybe in the 20's
I've found the weather forecast temps for Trona are usually very similar to PSR, the weather temps in Big Pine are pretty close to what you'll find up on Hunter.
Yep, I'll be there! I need to start packing, soon, like tonight.....
sorry to be a pain, but could you guys confirm that I can stay in the tent cabin Thursday night? If so, can I pay you for the extra night at the rally? thanks
How is the road up Hunter Mountain? Is it idiot-noob friendly? I'd like to go place the repeater with whoever trucks it there and wouldn't mind doing it on two wheels.
While I haven't been there for a few weeks but going up hunter is easy as long as it's dry, the newly washed out parts of Saline Valley Rd are past the turn off between Hunter and Lippencott going down in the valley. There's a very short section while climbing up before Hunter that's a little rocky, but isn't too bad.
Pretty sure Isaac was up there last week and said it was good, check the DV Snow and Road thread in Regional Forum.
Cool, sounds good then. Easy with some challenge is exactly what I need, I gotta get out of my comfort zone a little or I'll never stop being a noob.
No trailer ?
I think I am going to head out there after work Wednesday vise Thursday morning, Would I coordinate with the resort for the extra night or the Rally Staff? I would be pulling in around 10 PM or so Wednesday night.
Get ready folks!!!!
Nope. On plan C, no wait D, E?!!! :loll
I figured out some money solutions - But, my poor dog Winnie ended up back at the vets yesterday afternoon. My principal wasn't too happy about me missing Open House night (I asked a friend to tell her that I had a doggie emergency and put a note on my classroom door, but I found out today that she didn't get the message - oops:eek1)
What's another $186?
I picked up a flier on pet insurance.....
I sent you a pm, if you didn't get it I want to thank you for the kind offer of squishing into your camp spot!
Looking forward to the ride up to Wild Rose
Oh, really soft sand and I have to turn at the same time. I see lots of dirt naps in my near future.
Rob, I'll be there Wednesday too.. We can talk about it on Sunday.
For others information. When you come in Wednesday or before, just check in with the gas station to pay for the extra nights. If you look on page 1 it says your campsite number ask nicely and I'm sure they will try and put you in that site..
If you speak Russian, that might also help.
(The gas station attendant and one waitress in the Restaurant were from Siberia..)
That's what I did for Wednesday and Sunday nights. Emailed them and asked nicely for the same spot for those nights
Death Valley seems like a logical place to move to if your from Siberia
Finn.......those pictures are not noob friendly :eek1
It look so intimidate
It's just a little bit of sand. Give it some gas and concentrate on where you want to end up. You will go where you look. If you look down, that's where you go.
yes and yes....i gave it some gas but i can't help look...
your shoulder and eyes should be facing where you want to go.
very nice pics finn. glad i sold my gs1200.....
sue - little bike, ersin already took care of your tent cottage situation. friday evening till sunday morning, cathy will be shacking up with you.
Where I've ridden the roads are lined with big rocks, big spiny shrubs and jumping cholla. I'm looking forward to trying to go faster in sand (lets face it -just be able to ride in that deep of sand at all) without the veering off the road consequences being quite so high!
