Hey neighbor, I'm in Litchfield. I am not going to be able to get to the event this year as I just found out about it as well. Next year hopefully a different story. Looks like a good event. Let me know how it is. Enjoy!

You both need to check out Dirt Daze near Lake George NY. I did it last year and it was a good time. Stolen Pig Rally, and the DARC three day ride in Maidstone VT are worth doing too.

We should coordinate on the Dirt Daze rides. I went last year, and the follow the leader rides are the way to go. I don't think the details have been posted yet , but the good rides do fill up fast.

Agreed, I will have to look into it to register. It does seem like the site for it is not updated. www.dirtdazerally.com

Re: DirtDaze - rides do fill up fast so get registered and get your spot reserved. Myself and my team (NDR) led the Lake George Loop last year and we had three full packs on the three days we led the route. The more that register early, we'll be able to assess if we need to put up more routes - but need advance time to plan that so we are trying to get folks to pre-register as soon as possible. More people and more routes makes the event better all the way around. Hope you all can make it - great event.

    Crowmoto,
I am not able to go this year however; i have been for the past three years, going by bike and truck. It is a fantastic rally and the riding is spectacular. The Cherokee challenge is worth doing and can be done at your own pace. I was able to do the whole thing this past year it was 176 miles of mostly forestry roads. The people are great and the whole event has a great vibe. I am bummed that I am not going this year. You will not regret going.

If you go by bike you and have time you can download GPS Kevin's route which is forestry roads from NY to TN. It is a windy route but it is fun. I was not able to ride the whole thing but what i did ride was fantastic.

Have a great time. I am in Dunbarton and ride a fair amount locally too.

    Cheers,

    Mike Baker

    +1 on above MMM posts.

Went for the first time last year; took the van and WR down and stayed on-site. Was planning to go again this year, but have another ride lined up that's still holding good on count down.
I gotta say that I love winters up here, but at that time of year, it was just so nice to be warm and chilling out anywhere down there soaking up Spring.
Great riding options as mentioned and lots more for the region. Be ready for any weather conditions up on the Cherohala. One day was fog and another was cold with snow flurries.

Fun event to spectate or particpate!

Lots of excellent mixed surface riding. Big turnout (around 700 peeps), but roads never seemed crowded.

Good food and coffee. Long lines, but plenty of time to meet new folks and talk bikes, rides, and so forth. Some of the funding (raffle & head-of-the-food-line auction) goes to a local charity.

The dirt daze site didn't have a link to register... unless I am missing something. Do you know if there is a thread for this rally? I know the site is not quite updated with this year's info quite yet. Or maybe just email them at info@dirtdazerally.com

The registrations links will go up in the coming weeks - they are working on finalizing details on vendors, routes, events, etc. Keep an eye on the DirtDaze thread and the event link.
