Getting a bit eerie when you pull into a pub after a very long day in the saddle & before you press the Spot Tracker safe button you receive a message saying " don't drink too much". :lol3

Anyhow all's safe & well and covering some ground in amazingly fine weather part from riding into the clouds a few times to cross the mountains. K1 & K2 have now covered over 2k in five days with an average speed around these back road corners of 25 kph and that seemed fast on the large loose metal gravel roads :knary

MB & K2 will be saying our goodbyes to our fabulous guides Oaters & ducatijim Monday morning after a night with ClintNZ & Rosie, when we head north to explore the Coromadel Peninsula on our own and then Wednesday dabbing our toes into the Northland. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us. We have been lucky.

Good to hear all is well MB. Looks like you've missed the Scallop Festival show at Whitianga but if you get that far into the Coromandel I'm sure you'll find some scallops left. Great weather here.

Was at PBee's for his birthday show yesterday with Barneyrubble , Toot and Megsy. We were reviewing the Spot, hence the text message. Don't get too wet. :devildog

Good job you're out of there in a week. The Rugby World Cup is on and those Kiwi's start to do strange things when the All Blacks are nearing any games with the Wallabies.

The guys made it to my place last night, all very wet but we got them dried out & had a very enjoyable evening with a few good NZ beers & some South Oz reds. The local guides have now turned the Ozzies loose & they are on their way up Coromandel today.

    Cheers
    Clint

home safely and pleased of a nice hot shower - temperature fell to 1 degree across the Desert Road as I crossed this morning. Sleet falling and snow ploughs in evidence.

Great to spend time with you Master Brewer (aka Kym 1) and Kym 2. Thanks for all the fellow Kiwi inmates who have shown generosity in various ways to these two South Australian characters: Michael (aka Young1) thanks to you and Leanne, Col aka Micawberism - awesome Taranaki tour, Jamie aka Ducati Jim (I'd say they were both sated after your gravel to the max, Clint and Rosie, Iain (Crisis) and others who've chimed in with encouragement and offers of assistance.

Now to address the dodgy starter motor on my GS and decide whether to leave the graze on the 'beak' of the GS remain to become part of the 'patina' of use or get it fixed. Teach me to behave as though I'm 50 years younger than my actual age - sigh! But first there's a list of domestic chores (domestic bliss) to be addressed.

Snow Sleet??What is going on MB, your sunny dispositions not influencing the weather anymore???:devildogGreat pics keep them coming.

Good on you Oaters for having a proper go on the big GS. Leave the battle scars, a bike that shows a bit of history is more interesting.
