The Hill Climb season is well under way! Our last event only had a few motorcycles that entered, but was still a blast. Some of the bikes were faster than cars. Lets see if we can get some more action on bikes this time.

If interested in competeing, shoot me a PM or go through the site posted below. Some of our riders/employees will be there on G450X's, HP2 Enduros, HP2 Megamotos, and possibly some vintage airheads too :deal

From the main event page: http://climbascutney.com/

Spend a weekend in Vermont racing your car or motorcycle up the Ascutney Mountain Auto Road. Time trial your vehicle up 2,300 vertical feet on a twisty 3.7 mile paved surface that has an average grade of 12%, with some areas graded at 19%. Unlike other hillclimbs at Ascutney, we will be running the extended course to the top of the mountain! We have reserved the entire Ascutney State Park Campground for this event and welcome competitors, spectators and volunteers to come spend the weekend. Please follow the links below for details on entering, volunteering, and camping. We hope to see you there!

Below are some pics from our last Okemo II run. Lots of fun can be had, ltos of cool bikes out ripping up the mountain (cages too!), and always a good time hanging out.

Hope to see some of you there! Post up if you think you may join. If you can't ride in the event, it's well worth spectating.

This looks like a blast. Will be there one way or another:D

Looked over the websites & etc. I have couple of questions/clarifications though & it may be helpful for others too.

Do you have the campground reserved for Friday night through Sunday?
Looks like it will cost $18.00 for a non VT resident to camp.
Is that for each night? & that is for a site that would hold 4 tents & bikes?
Will there be a day fee per person also?
Is it recommended to reserve campsites?
Will there be food & or vendors for spectators?
Are you able to leave & return the campground through out the day & night?
The competitors fee of $160 includes camping & other fees? How about crew members?

Thanks in advance! Hope to see you there!

    p.s. PM sent about competing

All I can tell you is that the last time I was on that road, the Ranger called the cops on me. I thought he was going for his own gun he was so excited. It is a great event you will have a blast. Usual rules I am sure. Oil containment system, safety wire. they will copy someone else's rules most likely.

Nope, it used to be in late May early June IIRC years ago. We used to hike up to the overlook and watch the cars. It is now in August.

    I am.

The lack of published rules is VERY frustrating. I am terrified of showing up and being turned away. However, I have talked to Joe at MaxBMW and he has made it clear that I should be fine. For the record, my bike is a pretty basic TE/SM610, safety wire on the brakes and fluid bolts, but that's it.

Best info i can find for now. Contact Max or Joe for specific questions

    http://www.maxbmwmotorsport.com/storage/hillclimb/MAXBMWMOTORSPORTS_CLASSES.pdf

    Who can enter:

If you are a car driver or motorcycle rider with racing experience and a properly equipped vehicle, you can enter the hillclimb. There are divisions for production, modified and street vehicles - a roll cage is not required to race in the street class. Hillclimbers with previous experience or who are licensed with a sanctioning body can provide their membership number for immediate entry. (SCCA, VSCCA or NEHA, NASA, AMA, Rally America, etc.) Novice hillclimbers are welcome. If you have never competed in a hillclimb before, you will be asked to submit a racing resume prior to being granted entry and may be required to attend a novice orientation.

All vehicles will need to complete a technical inspection the morning of the event and you will be required to sign liability waivers. As with all competitive motorsport events, you will be required to wear and/or carry specific safety devices.

    Format:
This event follows a typical Hillclimb time trial format. Competitors are released onto the closed auto road at regular intervals and are timed from bottom to top. At the top of your run, you wait until the other vehicles to finish and then all drive/ride down together in a line. We have volunteer checkpoints at multiple points on the hill to check progress and monitor the racing surface for safety. The hill will be open all day on Saturday for timed practice runs and all day on Sunday for timed race runs. If all goes smoothly, you will get multiple runs in the morning and afternoon each day. Please see the documents section (right) for schedule and registration class information.

That's not me driving, it's my buddy Paul. I crew for him now and then and I was lucky to be there the day that was filmed. He built it himself, the suspension system and everything. He's a really talented guy that can take a box of parts and make it go fast.

In the one straight he wa over 100 and right off the start past that spectator area, I'm guessing 88 to 90 mph.
