Heated grips or Hippo Hands also.
I was out today and didn't have any problem with the front tire ( +1 - +10 ) most of the day along the lake. A heated jacket goes a lonnnnnnnng way :)
Good news!, were you pounding the shit out of it with reduced pressures and is it the latest production run??
The trip is wonderful but I think you should reconsider your timeline if you can, not that it can't be done but the trip, the landscape and people are definitely worth more time. I did the trip a couple of years ago and would do it again but slow down some and enjoy the country more.
There is a nice campground in Raddison just up the road from the tourist office. Taking the tour of the Hydro project is worth the trip.
I camped on the road back to Mattgami by one of the road pulloffs with no problems.
Enjoy the trip.
Some weather statistics for Radisson.
OH Jeeez I just have to say something. I'm in Burlington with a 2011 GSA (retired) and would just love to go. (Dirtbike you will be driving right past me) Did the Dempster last June, camped for 30 days. Fantastic. The only problem we've planned to do the Northern PQ (Noranda and Val-d-or) TransLab, NFLD, NS and Gaspe about this time. We are sorta planning to leave last week of May to miss the bugs . So I'll have to do Radisson/JB after that.
Looks like my tire is 37/10. I tryed my best to see if it would lose pressure, found some back roads with more pot holes then I care for and the tire stayed at 37 psi. On the up note if this weather keeps up I don't think I have to worry about it.....
I hear you Mark, would love to take a week and slow down... just not in the cards for me this year. I only have a so mush free time and Radisson is still on my list from last year. It should work out just fine. Leave Thursday after work should make it to North Bay. Friday all day to make my way to Radisson, Saturday tour around, Sun,Mon make my way home.
Starting to Gear Up.....
Anyone up for an Adventure ???
may? you're gonna freeze.
im heading out there long weekend of August. got 5 days booked off.
Are you planning on camping on the Bay while you're up there?
The reason I ask is I hope you realize it's always really windy in Chisasibi, so it's probably going to be below freezing with a much colder wind chill overnight. Just want to make sure you know what you're getting yourself into.
FYI Last year i was there just before Labour Day and last morning was 1 degree C. Enjoy.
We were there a few days later....same thing.
Looks a little warmer this year though.
Much fewer bugs at that temp. Thats why i choose then to go
Awesome extended weekend trip to take.... (the road is better at speed)
Life slows down once you're up there though.
Amazing shot, Pig-Pen.
We got some good sunset shots, but not with the Inukshuk profile.
Now we hope for a RR.
Come on give us a ride report
