I'd love to have some good drawings and/or an exploded view. If I can decipher the text and current drawings I have SolidWorks and AutoCAD if mjydrafter doesn't have time.
That looks like a good weekend project, though as others have said better drawings would help.
We're going to build another one around the holidays, I think. After we've made all the cuts, we'll lay the bits out to show what goes with what. We should also take some detail pictures that show what parts go where.
I think that if we laid out all the subassemblies and photographed them as we put them together, that'd be a huge help.
tellec has some pictures of the completed structure, both retracted and extended.
Oh: the document for the cuts is pretty nice and the layout drawings are pretty well done.
Good, looks like a usefull addition to the primordial cave that I call a garage over here, I look forward to the pics.
Right now, it's in tellec's garage.
Have you guys seen this one?
Takes down to flat for storage if you don't need to use it.
We got the stuff to make two, but building the first one took hella long. I've already got a lift and now he does, too.
Having a folding one will be pretty cool.
I'm going to make one of these in the new year, there's enough detail in the pics to see how it goes together but is there any improvements to be made on the design?
Anyone that has made one (Kbasa?) have any comments on obvious shortcomings or improvements to the design?
One obvious (to me) addition is a front wheel support /chock system (proprietary steel thingy where the front wheel sits between tubing guides and sits on an over centre cradle) so the bike can simply be rolled on without the need to apply a stand. I want to use it for road and off road bikes as well as road race bikes without having to stuff around with stands to get the bike stable.
Any advice would be welcome.
But I love "not my's" driveway
