Sounds good mcsweety :D Roast goat and bike rides? Will get onto my daughter about the engel. Matty says the extra money on a pure sinewave inverter, 300W is heaps.

Send a PM to Happy Snapper. He was an Auto Elec in another life... And his workshop is next door to a private girls college.

Kill two birds with one stone?

    Don't thank me, HS

    howdy Ross,
ya bloody stereo should be 12 V and get a 12 V LCD flat screen. more efficent.

make sure you get a "Pure SineWave" inverter the other sort are cheaper and modified DC and are crap, also make sure the inverter has a fan and is mounted were it can BREATH....:deal

300 Watt RMS will cope with all you can throw at it, on the back / bottom of the stuff you want to plug in is the Wattage, just added it all up......easy.

I've got all the gear ya need in the shed to do the job...... next to the bikes and boat....

    cheers matty

    sounds awesome mate,

i added up all the stuff myself, and yeh it looks like its a go :D

i should have the bed and whatnot done before i leave brisbane all going to plan, a family friend is a wood worker and upholsterer, so gonna see if i can borrow a corner of his workshop, i've done up all the drawings already, just need the width of the inside and the height of the wheel arches basically to finish them off.

one of the perks of being a drafter before i went to tourism i spose haha.

12v LCD flat screen? im after a 32" screen, will look into what i can find cheap.

the engels are 12v from battery yeh?

    damn straight,

by the time im finished, i plan on having the back decked out with flatscreen tv with aerial, PS3, Xbox, X5a Modular computer (google it), surround sound, benchtop with flowing water cistern, fridge and a solar set up.

but first things first will be putting the bed in the back, then the rear battery and inverter setups.

then prob tv and entertainment, and sound then solar last up.

I'm no expert mate, but some electric motors (eg fridge?) will draw more amps on start up than they do running steady. If you only get an an inverter that will do the minimum, then starting something might overload the inverter if its already got a good load on.

    Bit hazy, but

power (watts) = volts X amps

Maybe Happy Snapper will add some more, but get an inverter with plenty of spare capacity.

    Hey McSlut
The engel runs off 12v or 240v. :D In fact I think Tia's can run off gas as well but I may be wrong. She has a gas stove from a boat in her van as well that won't want. It has 2 burners and an oven.

the gas stove sounds good, i was planning on just getting a dual burner setup and a steel topped table or something.

any chance of pics of both?

so today i was meant to board my first 2 flights to get myself home.

    this.
    did.
    not.
    happen.

i booked my flights both ways way back in may last year,
flights to amsterdam from brisbane, and flights to brisbane from amsterdam.

now about august/september last year i get an email from the travel agent saying that the flights had been changed by the airline and attached was the new itinerary.

the changes didnt really affect me too much at the time, has me arriving about 12 hours later that was it.

so today, i get up at 3:30am to get to the airport to get my first flight from amsterdam to prague at 7.

all is going well until i go to check in and im not in the system, this is a bit confusing so i end up having to go to the ticket desk to figure out whats happening.

what we have found is that when the flights changed, i was forwarded an itinerary but they never reissued my tickets on the new flights.

so here i am at 5:30 in the morning trying to figure out how to get home when they finally say they will put me on a direct flight this arvo to seoul instead of having to change over in prague like the original flights.
this was 8am by the time they say this so the first flight has already left.

i was told that the new e-ticket will be emailed to me within 2-3 hours, so by 11:30am at the latest.

come 2pm its still not arrived, i start to get a bit nervous, i had 1 euro in my wallet and that was it.

go back to the desk and ask whats happening, after another 20mins of them calling whomever is applicable, i get told that they have booked my flight, and that i depart at 8pm tomorrow.

    wtf.

and to top it off, they will NOT offer me a hotel as im having to overnight in amsterdam again.

so long story short, im back in the hostel in the city, im currently drinking myself stupid, and someones gonna get an angry ross calling them when its 9am in brisbane (midnight here)

pretty much because of someones fuck up with the admin work, im out 2 possible missed flights, out of pocket for an extra 2 train trips to get to amsterdam and back to the airport tomorrow, and another nights accom and food.

keeping receipts and taking it to the travel agent as soon as i get back to brisbane.

i paid for a service, that service has definately not been received.

Luckily 1 Euro goes a long way in Amsterdam. You are not Adam. Why didn't you do what generations of travelers who have gone before you have done and just bunk down in the airport lounge.

FFS Mcfear, take a teaspoon of cement and stop your whining.

    It's an adventure, right? :nod

Hmmm - I don't think you've been icily polite to the right person: last time this sort of shit happened to me, I got a room (and a tab) at the airport hotel, about £100 in cash - and a business-class seat on the long-haul flight out.
But only after they tried to recall the plane, but it was already out of controlled air-space.
Being in a regiment that has the same name across several different armies probably helped a bit tho'...!:evil

i was polite to everyone in the airport that i dealt with.

however, once i get home and go to the travel agent im gonna be a bit more firm for sure.

didnt end up calling last night as i spent a few hours in the bar, had 19-20 rums and bout 6-7 jagermeisters :D then slept for 12 hours haha
