Brought the micro start to an event this weekend. Got to use it twice. Both times it worked like a charm. First was a cold blooded 950SE (not mine :D). Fired right up. The second was for a Husky. Tried several times but something was up with the electrical system and the Husky just wouldn't stay running. Not the fault of the micro start.

The only issue I had was the clamps. They are surrounded by plastic and were next to impossible to clamp on to the terminals. Ended up just pressing the clamp to the negative terminal on the Husky. I think they are designed that way to prevent accidental shorting but perhaps different length leads would be better with a bit less clamp thickness.

    Otherwise it worked as advertised!

Longer leads would generate more resistance / heat upon use.

The cables are on the thin side compared to most jumpers.

Does this battery have some sort of current control to limit the flow?

hovering over the Buy button and wanted to know if the SAE jumpstart/Battery Tender pig tail will be available shortly?

Is there an ETA on when I will be able to get one of those? Should I hold off a week or two for my order or will it be months out?

    Recent posters.
You probably should contact Mfgr.directly with your questions.
AntiGravity does not seem to reply frequently to this thread.

Looks very interesting, will probably buy after the Holidays, unless they come up with a Black Friday or similar deal.
May even get one for wife and daughters vehicles, more practical than waiting around in a questionable location for someone to come along to jumpstart.

I would like to be able to buy the SC-1 with jumper cables and a 110v charger to use as an automotive jumper as well as being able to limp a car into the shop (ie alternator not charging).
With the warning to get the micro starts off the down vehicle within 30 seconds, they may not be suitable for my limp in needs.

Hi Scott (Antigravity), great products. :thumb

I'm just wondering if any SAE connector plug accessory, out from your Micro Start unit?
I'd like to connect by the SAE connectors to my heated gear (Powerlet jacket liner & glove liners) while off the bike.

Is this possible? Use the XP-1 or XP-3 units as portable battery power to run heated gear continuously while I'm disconnected from the bike.
I have SAE connector on the end of my Powerlet harness connections.

    Thanks.

I picked up 2 of the MicroStart XP3, the vanilla version.

Charge up, it came almost fully charged, then went looking for test dummies.

GSX-R 1000 at a friends shop with a dodgy battery, disconnect battery, start at first attempt.

Hmmm, what next. Aha, an F-150 parked nearby, thought about all the electronic gizmos that need backup power and moved on.

    Then this...

    <table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/wpsgIGjVDzcpjv5W8MR0qdMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-EBmAzSGrc7o/Uql4TFYtSxI/AAAAAAAAL3c/vh7Bg2UVqnE/s640/DSC_0075%257E2.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/102094600529123038018/20131021?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite">2013-10-21</a></td></tr></table>

Battery terminal off, clamp on the XP3, start....

    Crank, crank, crankkkkkkk, vroom vroooooooom....

    Leads were very hot
Battery pack hot, still able to hold on though.

I like the way the clamps are protected by plastic, you do not want a short circuit on a Li-Ion battery or whatever new wave tech the batteries are made of.

The motorcycle shop is ordering 5 units.

This thang works! I disconnected the battery cables on my F150 6.2 liter. Hooked up the microstart and started it 4 times one right after the other, on a cold engine. I bought 3 - one for me, two for presents!

I'm not bashing this product, but here's the result of my first testing of the product.
I bought it on line using the ADV discount code " adventure" for $129.
Received it in 4 days ( Saturday ).
    Charged phone, no problem.
    Ran laptop, no problem.
I took it to work Monday knowing I had an acid test waiting. We have a JLG man lift with an industrial V4 gas engine. It is cold here, about 38 DF, the machine has a drained battery, and had been sitting that way for a few weeks.
Hooked up the cables, then plugged in a fully charger Micro Start. The machine turned over no problem but would not start. On the sixth crank the positive cable solder joint melted. Afterwards the unit showed three solid lights indicating the minimum cranking charge still remained and I think also that we did not over load the Micro-start battery unit during our acid test. I'll contact the seller for warranty of course.

    Hey Fritz,

We will warranty it no problem... it reacted exactly as it should. The clamps melted because the load was to high for the unit. We have not testing on industrial motors, or other things outside of our industry.

So anyone interested in purchasing a MICRO-START... It works as intended absolutely and we will offer your money back if it doesn't.... BUT, it is intended for stock Auto and Trucks up to 400 Cubic inches, or Motorcycles and Powersports Vehicles. Outside of those parameters we don't suggest its use. We want happy and stoked customers, we made a pocket size jump starter and personal power supply but it is just that... a pocket size device with incredible power, but does have limitations. We will soon have larger beefier units designed for Diesels and more industrial applications, but a pocket size device really can't do somethings.... Please use it only as intended and you will have great results. Outside of that is a grey area and we don't want to oversell the product and get bad reviews.

We've had some really cool results and emails of people starting V-10s and other stuff, but honestly it is not intended for that use. Wait for our larger ones. But if you own a bike or average car or truck you will be blown away.

    Hey all,

I had a chance to read a couple posts asking questions about the unit here... Sorry I have not responded for what appears to be pages, but often I don't get any notification that there is a post, and I don't check often. So please feel free to write to us at info@antigravitybatteries.com and we will respond very quickly.

Also we do have the Harness Kit now that does allow for you to connect a harness to your bike or car and then you can just plug in the micro-start to this harness instead of having to take off your seat and use the clamps to jump start. Additionally this harness come with a reducer tip that you can plug into it so you can still charge your vehicles battery using the standard SAE type plug. Basically our harness kit will replace your battery tender type harness with much thicker cable capable of handling the massive amps required to jump start the vehicle.

In January and February we will have some bigger models coming out and additionally a very small one about as big as a Galaxy Cell phone that will easily do you motorcycles and up to V6 cars...but it will be so thin you can stow it anywhere.
