    Dave, Cory and Dean,

Sure wish I could come down and see some new country, but the kid has Regional track finals that week-end and we are hosting it so I have to help run it. Any of you, or Aric, available the weekend of April 20? I will be in Clear Lake for a bass tournament and was thinking of taking my bike down. See y'all in DV.

Capt I'll give you a ring alittle closer to the event. If we make plans now odds are they will have to be changed.

I hope you don't make that one 'swim' like [we] did last year ? As long as you have the 'magic button' you'll be all good...I think.

Sorry you won't be joining us, Robbie (but we'll make up for it this weekend, sho nuff). Good luck to your kid at Regionals!

Not sure yet about w/e of April 20. Been trying to set up a mountain bike ride with a guy, and that was a possible weekend. Would be fun to meet up at Cow if it's open by then. I haven't been up there in a year!

Thought I'd change the oil to be good and ready for May ... no good deed goes unpunished ... lower end bits in the catch pan ... ouch ... guess I trashed it in Death Valley in January trying to keep up with orange bikes ...

Dug the 1993 donor-cycle out from the back of the garage ...

Now I'll see if I can get the dern thing shoe-horned into my bike and try to choke it to life ... never a dull moment ...

    see you in the garage,

Those People planning on trucking and sleeping in your truck you should have a plan "B" aka back up plan. I suggest you bring a tent too. If you show up and the lot is full you'll need to pitch your tent. Or cowboy up and sleep under the stars or cuddle up with some furry critter. For those just trucking and plan on using a tent great, please use the boat ramps to park after you are all unloaded and set up.

So like a good adventure rider have a plan B in this case bring a tent incase there is parking spots are all full.

Not planning on coming this year, but I might ride out to say hi one of the days.

Davebro, Dean, anyone else down to ride cow mountain any time, let me know.

Also, trying to get into mountain biking again too, so if anyone goes to Boggs.

    Have fun!

Anyone heading up on Thursday afternoon? I'll be riding out after work and would love to ride up with someone. I have my big tank now and much better seat so I'll need to stop less often than last year.

I'll be leaving from South Orange County around 3:30pm.

Now that we're back from Death Valley n00bs rally, I'm starting to think about rides in Mendo.

Having not been there before, I took some suggestions from others and mapped out a couple of rides on the main roads.

M6-M10 Fouts Springs (around Snow Mtn Wilderness)
    http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1065195

M1-FH7-M6 (out to Covelo and back)
    http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1065233

After looking at the MNF website, it appears that FH7 and some other roads are currently closed due to snow. Does anyone with local knowledge know if any of these roads would be open by next month?

Since this will be my first time to Mendo NF, I don't know which roads are better to ride than others, or if the main roads will be too tame (not very interesting to ride). Any suggestions to spice this up, but still be manageable (no major obstacles or overly steep sections) would be appreciated. I'm also interested in any suggested vistas or other points of interest worth seeing.

I'm sure we'll all get a chance to talk about this when we get to camp, and decide where to go from there, but I'd like to have some kind of a plan and to get a few base GPS tracks laid down in advance.
