Once again other weekend ride, riding south passing over some "mob dangerous roads" just to get to one of our favorite places to go.

We rode south of Reynosa, heading to Sierra the arteaga,
taking only "LIBRE ROADS" passing by General Bravo,
    China Nvo Leon,
    Cadereyta,
taking the back road of cadereyta to go Los Cavazos,
Rode downtown of Santiago Nvo Leon,
and went up the mountains to our route.

And we did no see nothing. I mean nothing threatening for bikers.

Only did see many views like this

    here you go compadre!!!

after almost 6 months of no rides, this one turned out to be very relaxing and fun.

so since breakfast time was getting close as we leave reynosa, I will start with our first stop. Breakfast at General Bravo.

then we rode straight to Santiago, passed cola de caballo and from there we ran to the hills!, the paved road started to dissapear, all due "ALEX".
so suddendly on any curve you could easly find a missing lane, or a washed out portion of the mountain.

Some of them with no signaling, and many with signals enough to make you slow down on time.

So, we found out that it was actually more entertaining to ride this all beat up road.

Here are some pics, were used to be asphalt paved, now only gravel.

more crossings and then we got a point were few GS1200s were stoped and with problems.
We saw them before cross that part of the river, which actually was a little bit strong and the force of the current made the bikes to travel diagonally at the time of crossing. The deep was about 18 inches more or less, so we saw no problem at all.

Again I crossed last to take the obligatory pictures.:1drink

So while mis amigos where crossing, I see the other riders get together to watch us.
then was my turn (no pic crossing) I'm not sure if Andres took one of me or was Efrain??

So as soon as we all crossed, we talked to this riders and we see that all their bikes got water into the motor. and one of the still having problems to start a (GS1200 adventure) so we try to help getting some tools, and doing the tipping up the bike to shake the water out.

    shaking the water out!!!

after some more shakes, the bike is running!! so they are all happy and ready to go back to monterrey.

I start my bike and cross the other little current to keep taking pics of next passes.

Looking now for a place to Camp, and since we spent more time than expected on the route, we shortened in order to not ride on the dark.

the chosen area was right before Los Lirios town,

we saw these little palapas but thwy were closed, but anyway we took a look.

hey compadre can you fit thru there? no problem!

since no one around we rode some on the near shacks but all them around were locked.

going back to the main road, and decided to go into the town to ask for the place or any other option.

then once in Los Lirios, we asked for a "Carniceria" (meat market), we got some delicious looking Top Shirloins, (just 2.75 dollars per pound), charcoal, ice, etc.
Also the Butcher gave us a tip about a place owned by his father, with

grill and nice area to camp.

we were little confused to find the place, since all are real nice and alike. :D

finally there you go! the place..
the butcher said that there was a little shack and we could camp on the yard. but from the road was kinda of hard to see it.

very nice place just to laydown and look at the sky
    [IMG]

    free apples!

OK Time to set up the tents

and get some dry wood to add flavor to the Shirloins

General Bravo is just off the toll road between Reynosa and Monterrey and was the scene of some pretty stiff fighting between the bad guys and the Mexican Army not too many months ago.

Good to see that things are settling down. :clap

I don't think that there has been any trouble along the toll road for the last 3-4 months.

JC got a "special" chair for the ride and that easily fits on his bike.

Actually he just did grabbed the first chair he saw in the morning when leaving his home, and turned out to be from his little ones!!
