More of Clara's relatives.
That is all of the photos from my camera. I will catch us up till my arrival at Emiliano's and then I have four days of photos that he took on our trip into the mountains and his home town.
great RR ! You know i'm diigging this. Have a safe trip home. That KLR broken in yet? salud
It just passed 85,000 miles, so it is almost broken in!
I'm sad to say I'm only at 27,700 on my '00 KLR. But, heading for Arkansas this morning on it and leaving the Bandit at home.
You are retired now, get on that thing and go!
Hi Donnie. I'm late to the party, but I'm subscribed and caught up. Thanks so much for another wonderful RR. You're an inspiration and you've really got me dreaming about retirement! (Need to start learning Spanish now!) Also, thank you for being such a great ambassador during your travels. I think it's safe to say that you shatter the ugly American stereotype.
Thanks to all of your gracious hosts too. Amazing how people open up their lives and homes to you.
micky was great .glad to be back and were worn out; but in 3 or 4 years youll get your turn
Dang! I'm jealous!!
Well, it looks like Donnie is now just passing the San Antonio Texas area, on the home stretch. I guess he survived Mexico and points to the south.
Thanks for coming along! Yes, the people have been great! The more you travel, the more the trip is about the people you encounter.
Me too! I want to go back!
Yes, I am in Dallas now to visit with my daughter for a bit and then it will be on to MS.

I am sitting with them as I type this. All is well!
A long hard day of making miles. Some nice scenery as I paralleled the Pacific. I arrived at Emiliano's at 12:00 noon. He was already planning for us to leave early the next morning, so I did some PM on the KLR. Then I went over to see Johana at the hotel. In addition to working at the hotel, she does professional photography on the side.
If you need any photography just about any where in Mexico, please let me put you in touch with her. I have seen a lot of her photos and can vouch for her work. She is good!!!
She is based in Lazaro Cardenas.
I am putting the four days of the trip into the mountains together. The pictures were all taken by Emiliano. He is supposed to provide info to supplement many of the photos. He told me a lot about the history of the various site we saw, but I did not take notes and he is very knowledgeable in these area.
Ready to leave:
