Last week I decided to join my friend Miguel Angel invitation for a short trip with his fellas to Veracruz through the sierras in the coastal side of Mexican Gulf.

The whole pack at the first crossway re-agrouping.

Our first stop was Cuetzalan, a gorgeous little town in the sierras.

Town's style is typical Spanish influence with the stones adding the local building touch style.

The hotel was also in the mood. Rustic and comfortable at the same time, it has the correct balance for our trip and expectations.

    The "Temazcal"

Wood and stone are the materials that give the place that rustic mood. Very nice.

Rooms interiors also reflect that rusticity

That night was the first seafood of a trip that will have a lot of that. Lots of Rum on the way too...!:freaky

    Yammy...!

A nice afterdark view of town...

After a great sleep... breakfast at the terrace. Notice the greenery..!

After breakfast we re-agrouped at this esplanade by the church and towns square.

This is a good one of the bunch on our way out Cuetzalan.

The route was mainly rough roads and the heavy rains that took place just a few days ago made them quite fun to ride.

All of the guys were riding heavy BMW. I was the only on a 640 Adventure and as you can imagine the fun was all mine over those roads.

Asking for directions to the man on the horse.

We also found a lone waterfall in the way... Amazing spot.

Heat and humidity was a taugh ingredient to this mix.

My friend Miguel Angel and his BMW at the waterfall Spot.

A re-agrouping stop and a call for water... Heat and humidity was very difficult to tolerate by that time...

After a while we got to the Gulf.

With an increasing heat and humidity, we finally got to our next stop: Hotel IZTIRINCHA...by the town of Nautla, it is a mix of a resort and a fauna reservoir.

The place is a hundred feet from the sea, with a big pool and nice surroundings, where we found these little fellas:

    And these

Newborns jut a few days ago as you can see

    Look at that face..!

They already have that fiery don't they..?

Not sure what fruit is this one, but it looks pretty good and grows right in the yard.

This is how the breakfast looked at that place in the morning...

Chilaquiles, Goat cheese, fluffy tortillas, you name it...

While part of us where just starting the day, others were catching some locals in their everyday's business from very early that morning...

Nice pics from Pepe Espinosa's camera... He was hunting for good pics all along the trip.

Look at this guy here on his italian - actual world champion - :deal soccer outfit...

At noon off we were, on the road again. Now Miguel Angel and I mounted a tiny helmet cam that he's got before the trip.

    Shooting Straight ahead:

Lots of different paves and approaching to...

...one of the zillion toll's Stations we had to pass through... No freeways any more..!

On the road, shooting backwards, helmet cam did a great job...

The gang approaching the city of Veracruz.

And right into the Hotel's Parking...

The hotel: La Diligencia. A nice traditional place in town.

Look at that...! ... don't miss Sopranos new season...:lol3

After a nice splash in the pool I took these views across the hotel's street

That night we gathered at the hotel's restaurant for another seafood dose... maybe the best seafood apetizers I'd experienced so far. After that, a round of cigars crowned the feast.

A little walk by the city square and surroundings...

Next morning, we took off early to get back to Mexico City. We met at the hotel's breakfast salon

Where we got some of these

We decided to make a brief stop at a very old setting named "La Antigua", a few miles from Veracruz and in the way to Mexico City.

It was an unplanned stop, but personally a very revealing one. It happen to be the place where the spanish conqueror Hernan Cortez settled his first administrative office in the americas. A tremendusly magic place.

An amazing place, where Cortez home's ruins are practically eaten back by the sorrounding jungle.

    Amazing stuff...

After what we climbed our bikes back to Mexico City. A nice short trip of three days in the Mexican Gulf sierras.

    Hope you guys enjoy
