Every Sunday morning, riders from around central North Carolina converge on Michaels Bar & Grill, south of Chapel Hill, NC, on 15/501. There isn't an event, it is just a place to bike watch and meet friends. Peak viewing time is around 10:00 am, everyone is usually gone by noon. It is a varied collection of machines that show up. Lots of BMWs, Harleys, Triumphs, various Japaneese bikes, and a few Italian ones as well.

I go occasionally, it is always a crapshoot on how the food and service is but there are some wild bikes sometimes.

That's Janey in the pic BTW

I ususally don't even go in the bar. :D

Thanks, I didn't know her name. I've spoken to her on a couple of occasions and she's always been fun to talk to. She was gracious enough to let me take her picture last week. The hat is strategically placed to cover up the BMW logo on her shirt. :lol3 I guess that was what she rode before the MV. Is she on this site?

No, she isn't that I know of. She used to be the treasurer of the local Tarheel BMW club.

She sold an R11S to get the MV.

Wow, you're in West Virginia right? Did you move from here, or were you just visiting once upon a time.

Charlottesville, VA. I'm about three hours away, and I have a riding buddy in Hillsborough, so it was a convenient distance to see a friend, have some breakfast, and return home before the whole day was gone. My buddy had a real bad accident about a year ago, and hasn't ridden since, so it's been a while since I've been down there.

I used to live right around the corner to the right on Old Country Road (I think). But I haven't been there in about five years. Some good riding in those parts.

Went back this morning and there were lots of bikes. I took some pictures, but my camera was in a funky mode, so most of them didn't come out. I did see a Blast, which was a treat. There as a nice looking Magna there as well. It's for sale.

Figures, I woke up at about 8:30 and decided not to go, I was real close.

Keep your eye out for a black XT225, one of these days I will get over there.

Got a new batch from this morning. :)

She was my the range assistant when I took the Riders Edge (MSF) class. I dropped my training bike in the class, breaking off some extra turn signals and the belt. She got to push it about a quarter mile uphill in the July heat. I felt so guilty. :cry

I don't know who this one is, but the combination of XX chromosomes and motorcycles always rates a place in my photo collection.

    Magna

I didn't know BMW had ever made a belt drive bike, particularly with the drive on the right side.

Hey, those bags on the Guzzi look familiar.

Another trip this morning. There were some other ADVers there, but I managed to miss them all. Well, except for Sportymark, but he doesn't count because I rode with him.

An interesting BMW. Anyone know what it is?

A BMW with chrome. I didn't know that was allowed.

I don't know what it is. It appears to be a custom frame. Six carbs. One observer called it a "mechanics wet dream."
